Parking is $5 per vehicle or if you walk in $1
Overall:
Parking is $5 per vehicle or if you walk in $1. The views up top are amazing and you could see the people coming in to make the peace sign. If you go in the early February time frame or in March, the chances of you seeing a whale on the horizon are very likely! IF you have some problems with hiking and want to cut the steep stairs out of your routine, then after the tunnel, stick to the left trail. ... moreYou'll find it easier!

A great hike, excellent views
Overall:
A great hike, excellent views! If you are driving, go early because the parking lot is small and fills up by 10AM. I would not recommend the hike for anyone with a stroller.

Nice easy hike with an awesome view of honolulu
Overall:
Nice easy hike with an awesome view of honolulu. Most of the way up is paved and then there's some stairs up to the top so nothing too crazy. I recommend taking the bus or if you're staying at a hotel in waikiki apparently you just show the pink trolley your room key and it'll take you there for free. Your gonna want comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Seemed like it was getting pretty busy the ... morelater it got so I would recommend trying to get there early.

Love this short hike
Overall:
Love this short hike. Only thing is you have to pay to park. 5 per car. Seems like a lot to me. But the park maintenance is well kept, lush and green.

Great hike - it's pretty short but steep and the view is worth the walk
Overall:
Great hike - it's pretty short but steep and the view is worth the walk. It was kinda crowded when we were there around 10:30 AM. Get some shaved ice at the end from the truck in the parking lot. That guy is really cool.

I was really impressed with Diamond Head considering the amount of attention it gets
Overall:
I was really impressed with Diamond Head considering the amount of attention it gets. It was a great hike with spectacular views; however, I would not say it is the best hike on Oahu. For even better hikes, check out the hike up to Makapu'u Lighthouse or the Manoa Falls trail. Both trails are very close to Honolulu, and have gorgeous views and fewer tourists.

This is definitely an understated destination
Overall:
This is definitely an understated destination. Hawaii has much more to offer than beautiful beaches and pineapple plantations, and Diamond Head is a prime example of the other, easily accessed natural wonders of the state. A fairly simple hike is all that you need to be able to take in some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. No matter where you look, there are views that will amaze even seasoned ... moreglobetrotters. There will most likely be periods during the hike where you will have to wait, and they may occur when you are in a tunnel or on a steep and narrow path. Claustrophobes and people who dislike dark spaces should take that into account when thinking about climbing the mountain, but the view is beyond worth it. I can't say enough about Diamond Head, just go and hike it yourself!! Be sure to take pictures during every phase of the trip.

Probably one of the best hike ever
Overall:
Probably one of the best hike ever. Simple. Easy. Short. Great view. Take the bus from the strip. Drops you right off at the bottom to avoid traffic at the lot!
