Our Discover Hawaii scuba diving experience is a half-day charter with two shallow ( max 35 feet) introductory boat dives at two different reef sites. No classroom tests or studying required. We will show you all you need to know on the boat before you enter the water. In addition, all the rental gear you need is included in the price!
Discover Scuba Diving in Oahu is designed to allow anyone to experience scuba diving for the very first time. In the warm, clear ocean off Waikiki Honolulu, under the direct supervision of the Oahu Scuba Diving, a PADI certified Instructor, you'll get to experience the thrill of easily breathing underwater!
How It Works
First, reserve your spot today as space is limited on our boats! Second, prepare for fun! Bring a towel, sunscreen, swimsuit and snacks/water. Everything else you will need is already on the boat. The boat leaves the dock promptly at 9am. On the 20 min ride out to the dive sites, you will be briefed on what to expect and the few simple skills you'll need to know to dive safely, such as mask clearing, how to equalize your ears to the water pressure, regulator usage, clearing and recovery, proper fin kicking and basic hand signals.
At the dive site, the boat is moored in place. A wide stable platform is then dropped to provide an easy way on and off the boat. Guidelines descend for twenty feet below the platform, providing divers something to hang on to while the instructor takes each person through the basic skills before they descend all the way to the reef below.
With only four divers per instructor ratio, you're assured of safety and personalized attention. Oahu Scuba Diving has been teaching and leading Oahu scuba divers for 17 years! Two Tank Boat Charters for Advanced Divers:If you're a certified scuba diver and you want to experience the best scuba diving on Oahu, we've got everything you need! From our 52' spacious, scuba-designed, Coast Guard certified boat we can safely and comfortably take you to shipwrecks, wall dives, drift dives, cave dives, reef dives and more.
For certified Advanced Divers, the morning boat charters leave the Hawaii Kai Marina dock at 8:30am, returning approximately at noon. The first dive is the deepest, usually between 80 - 115 feet depending on the dive site. The second dive is shallower and generally a reef or wall dive, as well as being a drift dive.
If you don't have your own scuba gear, top quality rental gear is available for an additional $25, which includes mask/snorkel, wetsuit, BCD, dive computer/regulator and fins.

With an Open Water Scuba Certification, you can dive at resorts anywhere in the world and rent gear from any scuba dive center. We recommend beginning your self-guided academic training before arriving for your first day of training dives. Days 2 and 3 are about learning and practicing new dive skills and studying for the final dive exam at the end of Day 3. While safety and dive skill mastery is required for certification, we never forget it's also about FUN! Only a portion of each dive is spent covering new skills, the rest of each dive is for exploring and enjoying the world under the waves!
How It Works
PADI Scuba Certification with the Oahu Scuba Diving is a three day, two part class. All books, materials and rental gear are included in the certification price. All you need is a swimsuit, sunscreen, snacks and a high tolerance for fun! The first two days go from approximately 8am to 1pm, with the final day being from 8am to 2:30pm.
Two Parts to Scuba Certification:
Six scuba dives at two per day for three days. The three dive days do NOT need to be consecutive, but we recommend it. Independent, self-study book learning, with five easy chapters with knowledge reviews at the end of each chapter, followed by a final exam to be completed whenever you're ready. Your scuba certification is good for life and dive sites all over the world are now open for exploring!
