The Manta dive or snorkel is an exhilarating underwater experience that is unique to the Kona Coast and one of the top night dives of the world! We start our adventure at Honokohau ... moreHarbor in the late afternoon and offer light refreshments and snacks as we enjoy the sunset and cruise the Kona coast to the manta viewing site. Our knowledgeable swim guides and dive masters will help you gear up and slip in to see these gentle giants loop, somersault, and cruise in the beams of light as they funnel the plankton into their giant mouths.
The divers will settle down on the bottom of the ocean floor and shine their dive lights up to attract the plankton. Snorkelers, on the surface, will surround a snorkel board, led by a snorkel guide, with lights pointed down.

What is provided?

We provide tanks, weights, and dive lights for our divers. For our snorkelers we have mask, snorkel, fins, and a 5mm wetsuit available for your use. You will also have a professional snorkel guide with you in the water for the duration of the activity. Once you exit the water hot chocolate or tea will be available for the boat ride home.
Dive Requirements:

Certified Divers: Divers are required to have their Open Water Certification and to bring their certification card (no card = no diving). We would be happy to help you find your certification, but sometimes we find them and sometimes we don't (which means no diving and no refund) so please let us help you early. We would love for you to come talk story prior to your dive, but if you would like to go directly to the boat please make sure you have your certification card on your person or have emailed us a copy of your c-card and have signed the electronic waiver.
You are expected to have been on a recent dive, at least within the past year, to participate in this night dive. If you have been dry over a year, but under 2 years, we recommend booking our 2 tank charter instead.
Junior Open Water Divers are welcome to join on the dive, but ages 10-11, are required to have a private guide. Divers ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian diver or private guide.
Those with a PADI Scuba Diver rating are welcome to join on the dive, but are required to have a private guide. A PADI Scuba Diver Certification is given to those that only complete the first 2 check out dives of their openwater certification.

Snorkel Requirements:

For safety reasons all snorkelers must be 8 years of age or older, be able to swim, and have prior snorkeling experience. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Recommended to bring:

Been on a boat before? Did your stomach get upset? Never been on a boat? Get car sick? Preventative measures such as ginger or motion sickness medication may make your trip more enjoyable. Consult a physician as necessary.
Bring a towel and a light jacket or sweatshirt to wear for the boat ride home.

Enjoy two morning dives at two different locations in Kona, Hawaii's pristine waters where you may see endemic tropical fish, view the many formations made by old lava flows, observe ... moregreen sea turtles, spot the hard to find octopus, and many more wonderful creatures. Often, we have dolphins who escort our boat as we leave the harbor. During the winter months humpback whales are spotted during our surface interval and you may even hear them sing underwater.

What is included?

We provide tanks, weights, and professional guides who will give you a thorough briefing of the dive site, what marine life we may expect to see, and a guided tour of the area. Fresh fruit, snacks, and water is provided during your surface interval while the crew changes your gear over to a fresh tank. On the way back to the harbor the crew breaks down your gear leaving you to enjoy the ride home. We would also be happy to store the gear for your next charter.

Dive Requirements:

Divers are required to bring their certification card (no c-card = no diving) and are expected to have been on a recent dive, at least within the past 2 years. If you have been dry over 2 years we do require a check out dive to be completed before joining the dive group.

New diver? No problem! Whether you’re newly certified, you love longer dive times, more natural light for photography or it’s just been a while, our late morning charter is the dive ... moretrip for you! We visit two shallow reefs average depth of 40’(12m) where we will find tons of reef fish (25% of which are endemic to Hawaii), eels, octopus, turtles, rays and even sharks! If you are not certified, you can join our Discover Scuba Diving program, where you learn the basics of diving before an instructor takes you out in the ocean. All dives are led by either a Divemaster or Instructor, and will be in small groups to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our divers.

What to expect:
Whether you love longer dive times or have recently earned your diving certification, you’ll appreciate our late morning trip to two shallow reefs. Photographers seeking more natural light revel in the picture perfect settings of this tour. We’ll dive down about 40 feet, where you’ll find tons of reef fish endemic to Hawaii, eels, octopuses, turtles, rays, even sharks!
If you’re not certified, join our Discover Scuba Diving program, where you’ll learn the basics of diving before an instructor takes you out in the ocean.
What to bring:

For the more advanced crowd we have an early morning dive charter. We usually dive one deep wreck around 100’ and a shallower reef for our second dive 40-60’, but with an experienced ... moreenough group, the underwater world is at our fingertips. Since the wrecks are a bit farther from shore, we often see more Pelagic Fish, and sometimes even some dolphins and whales! Due to the depths of the wrecks we do require a minimum of 25 dives, preferably Advanced Open Water and have dove in the last year. All dives are led by either a Divemaster or Instructor, and will be in small groups to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all our divers.
What to expect:
Tailored for advanced divers, our deep and shallow dive will take you to the most bewitching sites off the coast of Oahu. Check in at the Hawaiian Diving Adventures boat at 7:15 a.m. We’ll start with a 100-foot plunge to a shipwreck. Because the wrecks are significantly far from shore, we often see more pelagic fish, dolphins and—if we’re lucky—whales! Then we’ll dive to a shallow reef about 40–60 feet deep.
With an experienced enough group, we’re able to guide you to more adventurous areas of the underwater world.
Please note: Wrecks are located significantly deeper than shallow reefs. We require you to have done at least 25 dives before participating in this particular excursion. Preferably, you should be certified in Advanced Open Water and have dived in the last year.
What to bring:
Swimsuit, sunscreen, towel and waterproof camera. We provide all the diving gear and equipment, but feel free to bring your wetsuit if you prefer.
