Professional Tour Guide
Description:

This Kauai adventure tour will take you on a scenic trip around Waimea Canyon State Park. Waimea Canyon is over 10 miles long and over 3,000 feet deep and a mile wide, and is often referred to as “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific.” The canyon was formed by erosion and the collapse of the volcano that formed the island of Kauai. This popular tourist attraction provides a wilderness area with many hiking trails and beautiful vistas and breathtaking views.

The scenic drive along route 580 provides outstanding views of the Wailua River. We will make several 5-10 minutes stops for photo opportunities and restroom breaks providing for chances to stretch your legs and enjoy the natural beauty of the “Garden Isle.”

Waimea Canyon/River Tour Highlights:

  • Queen Victoria's profile, Nawiliwili Harbor, Coco Palms Grove, the birth stones and beautiful Opaeka'a Falls
  • Cruise the Wailua River on a Boat Ride
  • Views the Fern Grotto (Fare included)

We will also visit Kauai’s “biggest little town”, Hanapepe Town. This little town was very busy during WWII and the 1950’s with GI’s and sailors training. This little town was also used as a location for many shows and films.

We continue our sightseeing adventure continues along the southern coast on our way to Poipu, a beautiful resort getaway and the home of the Spouting Horn. This natural wonder occurs when water rushes in under the lava shelf and bursts upward through a small hole in the surface.

Waimea Canyon

As we conclude our scenic adventure tour, we head back to the Wailua River for your relaxing Wailua River Cruise (admission included)! This is the ONLY river boat trip in Hawaii! The trip up the historic river takes about 40 minutes one way on a long flat-bottom boat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Click on the red "Book It" button and make a request. You will receive a confirmation usually within hours. If it is not available you will not be charged and we'll help you find an alternative date or similar tour.
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible! When you get to the booking page, select the hotel you are staying at. Your confirmation email will have the pickup location which will either be your hotel, or somewhere within 5 minute walking distance.
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Overall:
I live in Hawaii, in the "city"(Honolulu), but even locals need weekend getaway's to the country. I rented a car and I usually like to explore by myself, this time I had my 19 year old twins and my 4 month old granddaughter and I didn't want to be the tour guide, so we booked this trip. Our driver was nice, the coach was comfortable and we learned a lot about the history of Kauai. It's a long day ... more(10 hours), but the best way to sample the island and then we drove around the next day, back to the places we wanted to spend more than 15 minutes at. Well worth it.
