on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is known for banana plantations and flower
gardens. Tourists are most attached to its botanical gardens; such as, Fuku
Bonsai Cultural Center, Linda’s Place of Hawaii and the Royal Palm Enterprises.
Kurtistown
varied from other towns in Hawaii in planting bananas while other Big Island
towns were engaged in the production of sugarcane and coffee. Banana plantation
played a major role towards developing the economy of the town. Nowadays,
Kurtistown remains a top producer of banana on the Big Island.
