Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible! When you get to the booking page, select the hotel you are staying at. Your confirmation email will have the pickup location which will either be your hotel, or somewhere within 5 minute walking distance.
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

  • PLEASE NOTE: THIS TOUR OFFERS ROUNDTRIP TRANSPORTATION FROM KONA HOTELS ONLY. IF YOU ARE STAYING IN HILO, IT IS AN APPROXIMATE 2.5-HOUR DRIVE TO KONA.
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes as this tour traverses sharp, uneven lava surfaces.
  • We discourage visitors with heart or breathing problems and infants, young children, and pregnant women are especially at risk and should avoid being in areas where fumes persist.
  • Fumes (volcanic gases) are hazardous to everyone's health.

Overall:
If you are working with a budget this is the tour company for you. For the most part we saw what we set out to see: Big Island (Kona, Hilo), Maui (Hana Coast), Oahu (Pearl Harbor) and Kahaui (Waimea Canyon). We had an amazing trip and could not have done so otherwise. Although some of the tours were rushed, the drivers and guides were hard working, knowledgeable and very personable (with the exception ... moreof the last driver/tour guide in Kahaui who came to pick us up before our scheduled time of 7:45 AM, left us at 7:44 AM - I saw the bus pulling away, nonetheless she had to turn back to pick us up, had an attitude - not even a "good morning" great way to set the tone for the rest of the day).

All in all amazing pictures and knowledge gained from this once in a life time journey. Yes, I would use this company again if I came back to Hawaii. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the pickup mishap on the last day of the trip.

“Big Island and Volcano Tour”

The tour itself was great. We really loved the part of the tour that took us to the Volcano National Park. A real highlight to a really long tour (about 12 hours). The tour guide was great and was really knowledgeable. If I have a complaint (the reason for the 4 stars and not 5), it was the lunch stop. The food was just so-so and the portions were small (especially for the price). When I received ... moremy order, the plate was thrown at me and the waitress didn't even apologize for serving my lunch that way. I guess that's what happens when the lunch price included the servers tip.
