DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING – NON-CERTIFIED DIVERS (NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED)
Noon Charter: (Shallow Reef Dives, DSD Dives, Certification Dives)
Not a certified scuba diver? No problem! You do not need to be certified to try scuba diving in Oahu!
We offer daily PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) experiences on Oahu for those people who are not certified divers.
All that’s required is for you be in good physical condition (please see the medical questionnaire), have the desire to try scuba diving, and be at least 10 years of age . Our price for a DSD experience is $145 plus tax. This includes a 15-20 min class (diving safety, what to expect, introduction to equipment and a demonstration of a few basic skills followed by a 10 question quiz), Dive Instructor, 2 ocean dives (generally 30-45 min each), all equipment needed, and; once you complete the DSD experience, we will register your class with PADI.
Get away from the crowded touristy experience and enjoy a relaxing enjoyable Oahu diving experience! Make your Hawaiian vacation complete and try scuba diving in Oahu. We pick up guests at their Waikiki area hotel between 11:00 – 11:15AM and arrive at our shop at 11:30 am (if you are meeting us at the shop, meet time is 11:30AM at this location). From there we fill out the necessary paperwork, gear up and get onto the boat. We launch about 12:00 PM and head out to our first dive site (normally a shallow reef dive with Hawaii’s green sea turtles). After the first dive, we change out the tanks while you enjoy complementary snacks and water. During our surface interval, we motor to our second dive site; a second shallow reef dive. Once we complete our second dive, we head back to the marina and offload; while we unload you have time to visit our shop to pick up a t-shirt, hoodie, hat or more, fill in and stamp your log book or grab a shave ice near-by. We are back in the shuttle at 3:30 and dropping you off at your Waikiki hotel around 4:00 PM.
Please note that drop off times depend a lot on how long we spent diving and even more on Oahu’s traffic.
We start off by having you fill out a medical questionnaire. Please note that if you answer “yes” to any of the questions on the medical form, we require a doctor’s clearance before we can take you underwater. If you do not have time before your trip, there are low cost options available in Waikiki such as Doctor’s On Call. If the answer to each question is “no”, a doctor’s clearance is not be required.
You can expect to see turtles, eels, fish, and the occasional octopus during your dives. Other possibilities include rays, monk seals, reef sharks, and dolphins.
