Choose from 2 Unique Helicopter Tours

Kauai’s most beautiful geological wonders are inaccessible by roads or trails, and can only be viewed from the air! Discover the awe-inspiring beauty of this hidden paradise in comfort and style. All flights feature removable doors for any of our individual passengers. Our private flights are for 1-3 people, guaranteeing that each passenger has a window seat.

Doors Off Option

Each adventurous passenger may choose to fly this tour with the doors-OFF! The open cabin lets you experience the magic of Kauai with all of your senses, and relish floor-to-ceiling views for incredible panoramic and unobstructed photography.

Private Island Adventure

On your hour long Private Island tour, you will be swept away exploring the rugged splendor of the Na Pali Coast, the deep colorful gorges of Waimea Canyon, magnificent Manawaiopuna (“Jurassic") Falls, and, weather permitting, the breathtaking Mt. Waiale’ale Crater, which is the site of Kauai’s last volcanic eruption 400,000 years ago. This tour is for parties of 2-3 passengers, with an average flight time of 60 minutes. $287 per person.*

Extended Private Island Adventure

If there is one comment we hear from most of our guests it is simply, “It went by so fast!” In a sense, this is true because the Island of Kauai is a very vast and diverse place. While we do our best to cover as much as we can in our Private Kauai Tour, it is impossible to really explore every inch of the island. Our Extended Private Island tour provides the luxury of 75 minutes of flight. This extra 20 minutes in the air allows for a more detailed exploration of the island, with extra time spent at each of the fantastic sites, and a specific focus on the amazing waterfalls.

There is a two person minimum required at time of booking*. Doors-off option is available at no extra charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
Click on the red "Book It" button and you will see live availability. Keep in mind availability changes constantly, so make sure to book in advance!
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Was the tour accurately described on the webiste? In other words did it meet your expectations?

Exceeded all expectations! My wife and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon. Some friends of ours went there for their honeymoon a year earlier and advised us to take a helicopter tour and that it was worth the splurge. We are so glad we did! My wife, an avid researcher of consumer reviews, selected Mauna Loa Helicopter Tours. They were not the cheapest, however they provided a 60 minute private tour ... moreof the island and had great reviews.

Neither my wife or I have ever been in a helicopter so we were both a bit nervous. Our pilot, Ian, was awesome! He had a great sense of humor that helped calm our nerves. He'd always check in with us throughout the flight and ask how we were doing. The sights were absolutely breathtaking. We were in awe during the entire flight that such a beautiful landscape was real. Our favorite was flying in the volcano (it's dormant, relax) towards the end of our flight. It is the rainiest place on earth. It was so beautiful and were both overwhelmed with emotion of the sight.

We have friends coming to the island later this year and have already recommended Mauna Loa. It is worth every penny!

loved our helicopter tour so much! What an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My wife was pretty nervous about riding in a helicopter and took dramamine and was all rollercoaster anxious. But once we were in the air, it was so smooth (really!) and she loved it so much. I did, too! There's nothing I've ever experienced like being in a private helicopter, open door, looking out over the edge ... moreat tons of beautiful greenery and mountains and waterfalls. It was so cool! If you've got the dough, this is a must-do thing in Kauai.

Everyone kept talking up Jurassic Falls tour, but you can get up close and personal with waterfalls all over - you're only gonna be in a helicopter for this tour! The more helicopter time the better.

Our pilot, Ian, was awesome also. He made us feel safe, but also kept the jokes coming, and had some fun stories to tell too. He said he was 7th generation Kauai resident. He also gave us some great food recommendations for the rest of our time on the island. I'm sure the other pilots are great, but Ian really stood out.

Great experience, start to finish. Also, when you first show up, you can park in the shopping mall lot and cross the bridge to the helicopter bus. There is a restroom in the shopping center that they give you a key for, but it'll probably be open. I think it also didn't have soap, just like everywhere in Kauai! What's with the lack of soap!?

But to end on a good note, this helicopter tour was so worth it.

There are two reasons why this is the best company for a helicopter tour on Kauai. 1. They are the only company that offers private tours. 2. They are the only company that offers private tours. There are other companies that offer doors off flights for nearly the same price. But you will always be paired with other people. I was not willing to pay this much for a helicopter tour, and risk being sat ... morein the middle, without a window view. If you are interested in taking pictures during the tour, it's crucial that you get a window seat and go doors off.

Our pilot, Guy, was extremely personable and did a great job for us. My wife was 28 weeks pregnant and a bit nervous about flying, but he made us feel comfortable and she had a great time. I was surprised by how close he was able to get us into some of the places and appreciated how he maneuvered around to allow me the best shots. And the beauty of the Na Pali Coast is indescribable.

If there's only one thing you do in Kauai, do the helicopter tour. And if you want the best seats in the house, book your tour with these guys.

My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a helicopter trip in Kauai. I chose this company because of the doors off option and the private tour with just the 2 of us. I was not disappointed with our spectacular tour! The office is in a large tour bus in a small shopping center parking lot. This seemed to fit in with the style if the island that was full of numerous food and business trucks. The ... moregirls that checked us in were friendly and helpful and drove us to the airport by shuttle.

Our pilot (sorry, I forgot his name but loved his Irish accent), was friendly and knowledgeable. We always felt safe even when flying low into the canyons or over the open water. He was able to tell us lots of interesting facts and history about the island too.

The views were spectacular! The pilot took care to make sure we each got the best views by going over most sights twice from both sides of the copter. I couldn't imagine doing a tour with another company and trying to lean over strangers to try to catch the view. It was definitely worth the small extra cost for the private tour. And the open doors made it so much better! With no obstructions, you not only get the best pictures, but you get the best experience.

We weren't too cold up there, shorts and a sweatshirt were fine for us. Just remebered sunblock if you do a midday trip.
