Visit the USS Arizona Memorial, the USS Missouri Battleship, and more!

About the Tour:

“Stars & Stripes” is a fitting name for this emotionally resonating expedition that explores the legacy of Pearl Harbor and its profound impact on world history.

The journey begins at Pearl Harbor, with exhibits of personal memorabilia, dramatic photographs, battle artifacts and real film footage of the Dec. 7, 1941 attack. You will then travel by boat to the USS Arizona Memorial, the sunken battleship where more than 1,100 of the ship’s crewmen lost their lives. The USS Arizona tour includes a special narrated audio tour, featuring the voices of Pearl Harbor survivors. While at the Battleship Missouri, also known as the Mighty Mo, you will hear colorful stories about the ship’s history and stand where Gen. Douglas MacArthur accepted the Instrument of Surrender from Japan that ultimately ended World War II.

After Pearl Harbor, sit back for a narrated drive to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, where many American men and women who died fighting for their country are buried. The trip culminates with a drive through historic Honolulu to see the area’s noteworthy landmarks—Hawaii State Capital, Honolulu City Hall, Iolani Palace and Kawaiahao Church.

Tour Overview (*denotes stops made)

  • Battleship Missouri Memorial walking tour – Walk in the footsteps of General MacArthur and experience the battleship’s most famous historic mission
  • Pearl Harbor Visitor Center* – Welcome to Pearl Harbor, your gateway to American wartime history. Here you will visit monuments and museums; see exhibit galleries and displays; and learn from Pearl Harbor survivors.
  • USS Arizona Memorial* – The USS Arizona Memorial is the final resting place for many of the ship’s 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. Accessible only by boat, it is a place of contemplation, inspiration and reflection.
  • Battleship Missouri Memorial* – Meet the Mighty Mo, the last battleship commissioned by the U.S. and the site of Japan’s WWII surrender. You’ll walk in the footsteps of General Douglas MacArthur as you envision the battleship’s most famous, historic mission.
  • National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl – This beautifully maintained cemetery at Punchbowl is a memorial to honor the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and those who gave up their lives in the line of duty. This is also the final resting place of Ellison Onizuka, the first astronaut from Hawaii who was in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.

My husband and I had a wonderful Stars & Stripes excursion with driver "Cousin Ted". The bus tour included Pearl Harbor, The SS Missouri, the Punch Bowl cemetery & Chinatown and a Honolulu city tour. Ted was wonderful and very kind to my husband who couldn't walk much because of his knees. Ted retrieved the audio tour gear for us and made sure my husband sat in the front seat. We enjoyed his humor ... moreduring the bus ride and his historical knowledge of Honolulu and World War II. Our only wish was that there could have been closer drop off spots to both Pearl Harbor and the Mighty Mo. Otherwise, Cousin Ted made our trip fun and memorable.

We booked the Oahu- Stars & Stripes Tour and enjoyed the views and history told to us by "Cousin Ted", we visited the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, toured the USS Missouri where World War 2 ended, visited the USS Arizona Memorial, drove by the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl, Iolani Palace,"Road to War" and "Attack" Exhibit Galleries...part of the package sets you up with an ... moreaudio device that tells about what you're looking at, that part we didn't use much...looked at all the exhibits though, one of my favorite parts was the small groups led by a plethora of actual guides on the USS Missouri, if the one that led us around was any indication...they were all very knowledgeable and entertaining , lots of historical facts on the war and major figures on both sides. This was a very interesting tour, parts of it were very sobering...especially the USS Arizona Memorial.

Roberts Stars and Stripes tour was a great way to spend the day. Our guide/driver picked up us at 8:30 at a local hotel and provided an excellent tour of the city along the way to and back to our drop point around 5:00. The driver went out of his way to help us as we did change our pick up points. I highly suggest this tour and be sure to get the deluxe package so you get lunch. An experience you ... morewill always remember.

I took the Stars and Stripes tour with "Cousin Dorothy". I absolutely would recommend this tour and this guide to everybody interested in seeing the stops on this tour: Pearl Harbor/WWII Valor in the Pacific, Mighty Mo, Punchbowl crater cemetery, Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha statue. ... more

Dorothy was funny and not cheesy, full of all sorts of information about life as a native Hawaiian including personal family stories about land rights etc. She was excellent with timing and very clear with instructions as to what time to be at a certain place. She was very friendly and even answered our farmers market questions upon dropping us off.

All in all a great experience. If you do Stars and Stripes, ask for Dorothy!

We booked the deluxe Stars and Stripes tour of Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona, USS Missouri and downtown tour. Our driver Simon was on time an knowledgeable while driving to Pearl Harbour. After the USS Missouri, Simon was late returning due to traffic so we got a ride on Cousin James' bus. Cousin James was wonderful! He was also very knowledgeable, funny and entertaining. One highlight is he pointed out ... moreErnie Pyle's grave at Punchbowl. Ernie was a cousin of my Grandfathers but I never knew he was buried at Punchbowl. I would definitely recommend this company and the tour.
