Ho`okipa beach is located
on the north shore in Maui, Hawaii. It is known to be one of the most popular windsurfing
sites of the world. Visitors can experience huge and consistent waves extending
across the entire place and making it ideal for any water sport. Largest waves
can be experienced during winters, and smaller ones in summer. Tourists can
also participate in surfing and windsurfing competitions at the beach. The term
Ho`okipa in Hawaiian language means hospitality. There are complete picnic
facilities available for the tourists too.
The ho`okipa beach also has
a coral reef of 1/8 mile which turns the area into a pond structure ideal for an
early morning swim, however during calm climates. The entire beach is covered
with white sand, the paths are long, and it is usually uncrowded with lots of
open space. Green turtles or Honu is frequently found here, you should
definitely look out for them. When conditions permit, adventurous people can
enjoy walking down the rocky or uneven outcrops, and get close to the action. The picnic
pavilions allow locals and foreigners to have a fun time at the sandy beach,
playing outdoor games, and relaxing under the green shade.
