Frequently Asked Questions
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or a increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
We take great pride into making your experience with us perfect. From the moment you begin considering Discover Hawaii Tours to your final drop-off with our tour guides, we go to great lengths to make sure your day is worry-free and that you get to experience the best of Hawaii. Our tours operate in smaller buses, allowing for more stops, getting you closer to the best spots, and giving you a more intimate experience.
Upon arrival to Honolulu, turn left outside of the baggage claim terminal and meet the Discover Hawaii Tour bus (white mini coach with red letters) located at the Hawaiian Airline "Drive thru check in area." Look for a Discover Hawaii Tour guide wearing a red polo shirt and black slacks.
Founded in 1995, we have been operating without causality or major accident for more than 15 years. Your safety, satisfaction, and input is a way of life for our company.
During the booking process online, there is a ‘Message’ box where you can let us know of any food allergies (when lunch is included), special occasions, requests, and any other important information that you feel is necessary. We take your tour personally, so rest assured that we will do our best to make sure that your requests are met and your tour is a perfect experience.
Our tour guides are our main assets to us, and you. After completing an intense 2 week training course in driving safety, Hawaiian culture, United States and Hawaiian History, customer service, and First Aid and CPR training, they become Hawaii's Ambassadors of Aloha.
Yes! Additionally, we are an Authorized Transportation provider for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and conduct tours to the world’s most active volcano, Mt. Kilauea.

For your safety, please check with your doctor and find out if there are any limitations to your touring. Some sites have more medical concerns than others, like the Volcano on the Big Island, so be sure to find out of any restrictions you may have and we need to be aware of.
Yes, we have been working successfully with travelers of all ages since our inception and we wouldn't have it any other way! We do ask parents to keep their children under control at all times for the child’s safety and the enjoyment of others. Hiking tours are not recommended for infants, toddlers, and seniors who may have trouble climbing uneven terrain.
Yes, admission to Pearl Harbor is free. As is the film about the Pearl Harbor attack and the boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. Our tours consist of much more than that. Besides the transportation, your tour includes a narrated drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor with a professional guide. Both the guide and narration enhance your experience at Pearl Harbor and the round-trip transportation saves the headaches of driving and finding parking (the parking lot is currently under construction) When you’re unfamiliar with an area, it can be difficult to navigate the roads and highways. Following your program at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Park, your guide takes you to many places that you may not get to see on your own. Imagine that you are driving through downtown Honolulu, and you pass the beautiful Iolani Palace, not knowing what it is you’re seeing, or the history of the treasured palace. With your friendly guide, you will know exactly what you’re seeing, its history, and maybe even an inside fact or two.

I really enjoyed that we got to spend time at all of the shops in Waikiki. I really think that it is great that there is two different return times of this tour. If some people want to leave earlier then they can. Our guide was great; entertaining, friendly and helpful. We liked him a lot. At first I wasn't sure that I wanted to go on this tour, but it was definitely worth it. I really enjoyed everything ... moreabout this tour. I had no idea that I was going to learn so much during this tour.

Our guide was Tavita: we could not have had a better guide. I recommend the tour; the guide as highly as I possibly can. I note that for a kid who grew up in those WWII years (for us) it was gratifying to see so many of all ages who only know of The War from parents, grandparents, or …. As an aside, I recommend the book PEARL HARBOR, THE WAY IT WAS December 7, 1941, by Scot C. S. Stone; some will ... morebe moved to tears of gratitude by reading it: in addition some will be especially thankful for the last two paragraphs on page 56 regarding the Japanese Commander of the invasion force (no longer just a part to me).
