As you are freefalling for 45-60 seconds, you will get an amazing view of our beautiful island: pristine North Shore coast, amazing pacific ocean, pineapple fields, & Waianae Mountain Range. Frequently Asked Questions
The temperatures at skydiving altitudes can be near freezing (Below zero at HALO altitudes), so we recommend covering up with pants and a long-sleeve t-shirt if you are susceptible to cold.
If you don't mind the cold, you can brave the skies in just about anything you're comfortable with, just remember you will have to wear a full-body harness over your clothes.
Footwear is very important, especially since landings are where most skydiving injuries occur. We recommend covered shoes with some ankle support & cushion. Most athletic shoes will be adequate.
Weather changes constantly here in Hawaii. If the weather makes it unsafe to skydive, then the company can delay the jump until it clears up, or cancel it. If this happens you can reschedule your jump, or get a refund on your deposit. Keep in mind, only the company can cancel the skydive because of weather. If you are driving out, we recommend calling them before you drive out to check on weather conditions. This way if its cancelled, you don't have to drive up there. That being said, keep in mind the weather can be good and then change by the time you get there.
For safety reasons, you may NOT bring your own camera on the jump. However, you may jump with a camera with proof of appropriate insurance after you obtain 200 jumps, if you would like to purchase high risk insurance you must make arrangements prior to jumping.
We don't take reservations for photos or videos. You may purchase video for $150 and digital photographs for $100 of your tandem skydive to share with family and friends. Both photos and video are $210 when purchased together, just include and pay for the video with your reservation. An upgrade to HD video is available for $15 more.
Just ensure you let the front desk know you want photos/video after you complete your documents, and they will assign a videographer/photographer to join you on your jump.
Tandem jumping allows first-time jumpers to experience the thrill and excitement of the sport without the preparation and knowledge required for a solo jump. The instructor controls the jump from exit to opening and landing, so training for a tandem jump is minimal.
Yes, your instructor will have goggles for you. There is no need to worry, or ask your instructor repeatedly if you will get/receive goggles. You may also purchase your own goggles or use your own eye-protection if your instructor approves.
Cessna 208B "Grand Caravan" equipped with a 850shp Pratt & Whitney PT6-42A retrofit gas-turbine engine by Blackhawk Modification Inc. This is our main jump platform which holds up to 18 passengers and single pilot comfortably. The additional horsepower provided by the engine upgrade means we burn less fuel and get to altitude faster which both helps to keep our environmental impact lower and our customers happier. This is the most efficient jump aircraft currently in the state of Hawaii, and it currently flies the most skydivers to altitude everyday in beautiful Hawaii nei.
Cessna 208 "Caravan" equipped with a standard 675shp Pratt & Whitney PT6-114A gas-turbine engine. This "short" caravan was the flagship of our fleet until it that honor was taken by our 208B. This aircraft can still seat 14 passengers and a pilot comfortably. There are plans to upgrade the engine in this aircraft to the 850shp upgrade upon approval by the federal government expected in early 2013. This aircraft is mainly used as a backup aircraft and is our main HALO aircraft equipped with onboard oxygen.
Cessna 206, this aircraft is powered by a 285hp Continental IO-520A reciprocating engine. The 206 is a respected jump aircraft around the world and can get five passengers plus pilot to altitude in roughly twenty minutes. We use this aircraft for student and staff training, and the occasional demonstration jump. This aircraft also occasionally flies to the outer islands to aid in jump operations in various locations.
Cessna 182, this aircraft is powered by a 230hp Continental O-400L reciprocating engine. The C182 is probably the most popular jump aircraft in the world, and our workhorse has been with us since our static-line days. Like our 206, our 182 is used mainly for training & outer island operations. It can get four passengers plus pilot to altitude in roughly twenty minutes.
The State of Hawaii requires " No animals on the airport property".
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to Skydive.
Although the skydive itself from start to finish only takes about 20 minutes, you may have to spend a considerable amount of time at our facility. Factors that include aircraft status, weather, and other unforeseen circumstances may hinder our ability to conduct speedy skydiving operations. On non-busy days you can expect to complete the skydiving process within two hours; however, on busier days you should keep your schedule clear for at least a half-day. We strive to make your experience safe, memorable, and expedient; so we ask for your patience & understanding. We are generally less busy on weekdays, and can be extremely busy on weekends.
By FAA regulation, all intentional parachute jumps must be made with a single harness, dual parachute system with both a main and a secondary, or reserve, parachute. Basically, if one doesn’t work, you have another one. The reserve parachutes are inspected and repacked every 120 days by an FAA-certified rigger whether they’ve been used or not. Student main parachutes are packed by a rigger or are packed under direct supervision of a certified rigger. In addition, all students must have an AAD which will deploy if the student fails to activate either the main or reserve parachute.
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend aso much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book Now” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form. You can also call us toll free at 1 (808) 291-7954. We are available to discuss your schedule and options during our normal business hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm Hawaii Standard Time.
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or a increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!
While you can find coupons when you arrive to Hawaii or perhaps on the websites, read them carefully!!!!!!!! All the coupons we've seen are for jumps from the lowest elevation and the freefall is less than 10 seconds and not worth it. So when you realize this, you will probably upgrade to the highest jump when you get there, guess what? "That's how they get ya!" We don't like gimmicks, so we just have 1 rate for everybody that's valid at any point in booking!
If you mean simultaneously, then its a no, probably not safe to do, but there are 6 or so that go up in the plane at one time, so you would be jumping one right after the other.
This is the best available rate we have bookable at any time. We give everyone the same price!
Aloha,
No, the deposit is part of the total price and necessary to make a reservation. The total price $157 per person and you pay a deposit of $27.07 to make the reservation. When you arrive you will pay the rest of it, which is $130 per person.
No, for this particular tour we just take a deposit payment and the rest is payable upon checking.
No problem, there are lockers you can use for your valuables!
No, earrings must be taken off before skydiving.
Here's the deal: There's one company that does a really low altitude of around 8,000ft in which the freefall is a few seconds and totally not worth it. When you get there, they upsell you on the higher altitude and you end up paying more money. On the other hand, we go at least 12,000ft which is around a 60 second freefall. We go as high as possible pending weather conditions and government restrictions. If you want to pay extra to get a "guarantee" of 14,000 ft. then you can do that when you arrive, but just keep in mind that the difference between 12,000ft and 14,00ft is 12 seconds. We think you will have a blast going 12,000ft. In short, as long as you're not doing less than 12,000ft, it will be a great experience!
No, we do not book pictures or videos in advance, that is done when you arrive for your jump.
No, it is totally up to you to decide whether or not your jump crew deserves to be tipped; however, if the staff has provided you with a satisfactory skydiving experience, tipping is a great way to let them know that. Much of the instructors' livelihoods depend on gratuity, and they do their best to make everyone's skydives as pleasurable as possible.
The reservation must be paid with credit, but you can pay the remaining balance in cash.
Yes, when you make the booking you will see an option for own transportation.
No, there isn't a height requirement, just weight.
The aircraft can fit between 7-9 jumpers depending on weight.
Unfortunately its impossible to predict when you will get on the plane, please allow yourself 4-6 hours (from Waikiki pickup/departure to Waikiki return). If you drive yourself you have the benefit of being able to leave immediately after the jump and not have to wait around for the shuttle or wait through multiple hotel shutoffs, but this is one of those activities where you go there , sign paperwork, watch a video, and then "hang loose" for your turn. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Mahalo!
