Frequently Asked Questions
Availability here changes constantly. We can tell you something is available and then 5 minutes later someone else books and its not available anymore. If you make a booking and your activity is not available, then you will not be charged. No hassles, no worries!
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Was the tour accurately described on the webiste? In other words did it meet your expectations?

I had a tremendously fun day here!
Overall:
I had a chance to pet a baby sea turtle, buy some veggies to feed the adult sea turtles, and did the underwater shark adventure, where they attach you to a snuba suit and you go down into the shark tank with several hammerheads and white tip sharks (you're separated from them by a fence). There's also an enormous stingray in the tank that the trek leader will feed. It was a little expensive (100$ ... morefor a 25 minute experience where you didn't really do much but go down into the tank, watch the stingray get fed and come back up again) but it was still a unique opportunity. The viewing area to watch the sharks is expansive, so if you want to watch a bunch of sharks swimming without paying 100$ you can just sit there and watch them swim. Another section of the park has dolphin encounters, which I didn't do as they are very expensive and I was already doing the shark tank trek, but if you go to that area you can see two of the world's only wholfins (half whale half dolphin or her daughter who is a quarter whale a 3/4 dolphin).

Fun interactive activity with great views
Overall:
The day before I totally drove by Sea Life Park because of the views.. then had to drive back to experience the animals. Nestled between the ocean and mountains, the only thing to make it more enjoyable is throwing in the animals. Even though its a small park, they make it very interactive, educational and fun. As I came out of the shark tank where you can swim with sharks, I was greeted by my favorite ... morepart, feeding the sea turtles. A shallow pool with sea turtles were happy to receive lettuce, broccoli, and celery from people. This really allowed you to get up close and personal to see them and how they eat. I was told that these turtles have been there several years with one female as old as 80. Other interesting fact is that they still reproduce and the hatchlings are taken to the ocean to help continue populating our oceans. A few remain at the park where at the touch pool you mat have the chance to touch one along with other sea life. You can also feed the seals. Shows include the seals and dolphins. If you want to swim with something other than sharks, you can choose the dolphins or Hawaiian Brown stingrays. Each of these activities are extra fees so visit the website or come prepared to get in the water. I think these are great experience for children/adults of all ages. Other animals include penguins, birds, and other tropical fish. Well some people may protest animals in "cages", let's remember we would never learn more about these animals and how to help them from disappearing off our planet.

Swim with the sharks!
Overall:
The only reason why I gave this a 4/5 was because the shark tank was really awesome. It was a new experience and it was a good way to do the swimming with the sharks in a contained environment. The divers and guide were both very friendly and helpful. You go down with a small group and it really is a ton of fun. During the adventure the diver feeds the stingray so you get to see his cute face up close. ... moreThe rest of the park however is quite boring, at least for adults. Perhaps if we had children with us it would have been more exciting.

We swam with sharks!
Overall:
We had the exciting experience of swimming with sharks! There was a fence between us and them, but it was thrilling just to be in the same water. And it was so easy. (Unlike the excursions where you have to take a long choppy boat ride out to the ocean and be dropped down in a cage squeezed in with a bunch of people.)... more
And we swam with dolphins, gave them fish to do tricks, and they kissed us... all caught in video by the staff at Sea Life.
We enjoyed the shows and the animals too. The park was beautiful. It is smaller than Sea World San Diego, but the Shark Tank was so unique, it makes Sea Life Park Hawaii stand out. We had a great time!

Sharks, Dolphins, and Sea Lions... oh my!
Overall:
This is an older and smaller park, but we still had a great time. I swam with the sharks during the Shark Trek Adventure. As sharks are my favorite animal, I was really eager to do this. However, as it got closer to starting, I got extremely apprehensive. You wear a wet suit and a large helmet for breathing. Once I got in, I had the time of my life. Four people and two guides go down at a time. We ... morewent all the way down to the bottom of the shark tank and spent about 30 minutes watching the sharks swim by. They do not take pictures for you, but you are allowed to bring a waterproof camera with you. I'm not sure how easy it would be to take pictures with the helmet on, but you are welcome to try it! It was a very memorable experience.

We watched the Dolphin Cove Show and the Hawaiian Ocean Theater Show. The staff introduced penguins, sea lions, and more dolphins at the Theater Show. The sea lions and penguins danced right across the floor at the bottom.

The food was way overpriced, as is most everything in Hawaii. And it wasn't that great. We watched a few groups of people do the dolphin encounters, and they looked really fun. We heard several great comments about the dolphin shows, as well.

Morning trip to the Park
Overall:
Took the family to the Sea Life Park on a dreary, cloudy day in Hawaii. My 2 year old loved it! The spiral shark tank took you from the top all the way down to the bottom of the tank and on the way down you get to see more of the sea life there. Angel fish, 3-4 different types of sharks, an enormous sting ray are just some of the types of fish in this tank. If you really want to be brave you can even ... moreget in and swim with them with nothing but a chain link fence between you and JAWS!

In fact the entire park is like that. Want to swim with dolphins? you can! Want to sea a sea lion show? you can! touch some very large and ominous looking tutles, you can! In fact i was impressed at how much of a learning center the park was and less a tourist trap. Sure it still has touristy parts to it but it also wants to educate people as well.

I didn't get an opportunity to go to the Luau but from what i've read and heard by word of mouth is that it's fantastic! You certainly can't beat the view as it you overlook the Windward side of Ohau.

the Sea Life Park is defintely something you should see if you have a day to kill while on Ohau.
