Description:
Guests receive a unique opportunity to swim with a Sea Lion in a playful, educational, and interactive atmosphere. During the program, guests will be able to stroke a sea lion as the sea lion swims underwater. Guests will receive a performance and kiss from their sea lion! Act as a trainer and learn to communicate with the sea lion using hand signals. Photos available for purchase. Photos with your Sea Lion are available for purchase weather permitting.

H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!

While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Sea Lion Swim & Dolphin Swim Adventure

My mum and I visited Sea Life Park in January so I could do the Sea Lion Swim and the Dolphin Swim Adventure.  As I had purchased the Dolphin Swim and Sea Lion Swim, I received free round trip coach transfers to the Park from Waikiki. First up was the Sea Lion Swim. By a stroke of luck I was the only person in the 10am group - this made my experience so much better. As the only person participating I had a much more fulfilling experience with Makakoa - who I absolutely fell in love with. An absolutely amazing creature who I would love to meet again. The trainers are very informative and answered all my questions. I was a little nervous at first and they were very reassuring. 

Next was the Dolphin Swim Adventure. There was about 8 people in my group for this one and perhaps because of that it felt a lot more structured than my encounter with Makakoa, as everyone took turns to feed our dolphin for the day (the lovely Adela) and then give and receive a kiss, see her do some tricks and a have a belly ride. It was fun, but obviously a little less interaction than you would get in a smaller group - it was the amount of interaction I had expected though, I was just spoiled with the Sea Lion program for the day. 

The trainers all treated their respective marine partners with respect which was lovely to see. We stopped a few times in the Dolphin Swim to wait for Adela to stop playing and come back to us, which showed how well the trainers treat the dolphins - they're not forced or rushed to do anything. 

The park itself is very small. I found this a good thing because I had very limited time to look at it in between running from program to program and back to the bus. It was good to be able to look at everything in the small amount of time we had.

I would go back and do the Sea Lion Swim again, but not the Dolphin Swim, though that is a personal preference as I liked the Sea Lions better than the Dolphins

Buyer Beware!!
Overall:
The whole event was a photo op. We never swam with sea lions, we just posed with the sea lion- told how to stand, where to lean, where to place your hand- so the photographer could take pictures. The photos are $18 each or $44 for 3 photos of the same person! They are NOT included in the $70 price for the event!! Severely disappointed. Plus we were told to check in over at 11:00 for our 11:30 "swim". ... moreWe didn't get to stand next to the one sea lion until almost 12:30. We were told the same 3 facts by 4 people at least 4 times. Huge waste of time, money, and not a fun experience. Save your money. I do not recommend!!

Karen,What a shame that this didn't meet your expectations and thanks for writing this review so others can make a sound decision when deciding to book this tour. With regards to charging for photos, pretty much every tour operator charge for pictures simply because people are just willing to pay for them.My personal opinion on Sea Life Park is that it is a great place to go and have a "controlled" ... moreexperience, which many people enjoy the safety aspect, especially if they have kids, but if you're looking to have an adventure I recommend taking one of the dolphin and turtle sails. You may not be able to touch the animals in the wild, but for me it is more of a thrilling experience being out in nature and not in an amusement park, especially here in Hawaii!

Sealions a highlight
Overall:
My wife and I had wonderful day all round but our time with the sealions and their keepers was just great. Very informative and hands on. Loved that you got to feed both old ladies and have a cuddle. Well worth the extra cost and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Park isn't too big and is easy to get around. As a bonus the drive from Waikiki is lovely. Highly recommended.

Fun day
Overall:
We decided to play with the sea lions and it was great. we ended up being the only two in the group so we were able to do a lot with the sea lions. The only downside is that it rained the day we went so we were not able to play with the dolphins as we had hoped.

Meet and greet with sea lions!!
Overall:
This was amazing for my wife an I. Being dog lovers we love the "dogs" of the ocean so much. We got a nice kiss and to yell out a trick or two with 2 friendly sea lions. They are very intelligent, majestic sea creatures. Overall the park was pretty cool, we also watched the sea lion and dolphin show. We also went inside a bird avert to feed cockatiels and other small parrots. Some great photos to ... moretake back home with us!

A nice two hour outing...can be better

The Sea life park in Oahu is a small marine life park that exhibits dolphins, sea lions and marine animals. We did the sea lion interaction program and found it to be good but not great. The interaction itself was wonderful and exciting, but the pool in which they do it was smaller than the swimming pool near my home, making it not so pleasant. Interaction with dolphins is a way better program and is at par with the one that sea world does if not better for the same price. Their dolphin show is magnificent as the Atlantic and Pacific dolphins compete and perform against the backdrop of the pacific ocean and the rabbit island which is great for pictures. 

They also have a wholphin as exhibit which is a whale and dolphin hybrid.

Bottom line, this is a good park. If you are in Oahu for 3 days or more, then it is nice to visit. Else keep it as a backup for your main plan if something gets canceled due to weather or other reasons. Good for kids.

Expectation factor: if you have visited sea world before you may feel this as repetition.

Great family experience

It had been 8 years since we last visited SeaLife Park, wow has it been freshened up! Facilities looked remarkably improved. Highly suggest going as soon as the park opens to catch the feeding of the sea lions and the first sea lion show. There is a special right now with a Loves bakery wrapper you get in for 1/2 off, this makes it a great deal. Perfect amount of spacing between shows. Has typical ... moreoverpriced food. 

The best part- AMAZING animal experiences and the trainers are as amazing as the animals. You can tell they truly love their jobs.

Hidden gem on Oahu

Sea Life Park was a highlight of our stay on Oahu! It was less crowded than anywhere else, which was a welcome relief. The staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. The animal trainers were wonderful with the animals and with us humans! My daughter (age 10) and I did the Sea Lion Swim and the Dolphin Adventure, and I can die happy now. The sea lions were adorable and well trained and so funny ... moreto kiss. When we got into the giant dolphin pool, I barely noticed the freezing water temp because I was so excited. We were able to touch her and kiss her and take a belly ride. My daughter is usually timid and fearful, but she swam right out and rode the dolphin like an old pro. The pictures were pricey, but since it has been on my "bucket list" forever, it was worth every penny to me. My husband was able to stand nearby and take more pictures of our interactions, and he even got videos of me and my daughter swimming with the dolphin. The park is in an incredibly beautiful location between the mountains and the ocean. They even had decent food options, with a veggie bean burger, ice cream, and of course shaved ice. The gift shops had a nice selection of merchandise, including tshirts that said "I swam with the dolphins." My daughter loved being able to touch a sea turtle and the sea stars and sea urchins, etc. in the touch pool. I loved everything about our day at Sea Life Park!

Very good time, enjoyed the interactive experience

My wife, 21 year old daughter and myself went to Sea Life Park for about 4 hours. It was a fun time and we thoroughly enjoyed our interactive experience with the Sea Lion. The trainers were great and fun and easy to talk to and explained about the animals and guided us through a great experience. The food at the park was good and the shows including the Dolphin Show and the Sea Lion show were both ... morea lot of fun. I admit that I always enjoy a good animal show and this fit the bill. I have been to a number of Sea World shows and those are also excellent. Those shows are in a different league. For a nice 4 to 5 hour time with family (We also did this park in the 90s when all four kids were much younger), this park is a great option.
