We recommend Bonine. One pill the night before and then again one pill the morning prior to diving. Everyone who has taken it so far has been super happy with the results but, (disclaimer) as with any medication please check with your doctor prior to taking as results/reaction/dosage may vary. Available at Wallmart, ABC stores in Waikiki, and others for about $5.00
The Scuba Cat catamaran, is a 30 foot twin hull vessel with a 11 foot beam and twin 2013 Suzuki 150hp engines. The catamaran charter boat is fully equipped for safety and the harbor is close to the dive sites for quick trips. Some days its only two or three people but the weekends and summertime are usually busy. The USCG certified the vessel for 12 passengers, but we only bring out 6 scuba divers per charter.
Wear your swimsuit, and bring along a towel, sunscreen, and sunglasses. If you're a certified diver, bring your certification card and log book. If you are a student, bring your crew pack each day.
Yes. We do allow riders to come along with a diver, but The rider will need to pay for his or her boat seat at a substantial discounted rate.
Diving conditions are good year round. Water temperature ranges from 78°F (25°C) in winter to 80 °F (26°C) in summer. Visibility varies somewhat from day to day and from one dive site to another, but is typically 80 to 120+ feet (24.3 to 36.5+ m). If conditions are too poor at one dive site, we can often move to an alternate dive site. Because we believe the only fun diving is safe diving, we will cancel charters on the rare occasion that the surface or diving conditions present safety concerns.
No, Beginners or First time scuba diving participants aged 12 and older can go on two shallow (to 40 feet) introductory Discover Scuba dives, each at a different dive site. There are no study guides or tests to worry about, we'll teach you what you need to know with a few quick skill lessons before you enter the water, and an instructor will closely supervise your dives.
Divers Alert Network currently recommends waiting 18 hours after diving before you fly in commercial aircraft.
You should be able to swim, and it’s very important that you are comfortable in the water.
You'll dive with no more than 6 other people in addition to your guide or instructor.
No, you have to meet us at the check in location.
In Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu. We are located at the Kewalo Basin boat harbor on Ala Moana blvd. and Ward Ave. We work from the boat to ensure the lowest prices for our customers.
Our boat is located at Kewalo basin Harbor on the south shore of Honolulu, about a 5-10 minute drive from Waikiki. Only a 15 minute walk from the Hilton village hotels.
Yes. That’s what we’re here for! An experienced guide or instructor who’s familiar with the dive sites will lead groups of up to 4 certified divers, students or first time divers on each dive.
Deep or Shallow dives are planned to the No Decompression Limit or air consumption, whichever comes first. We expect divers to be back on the boat with 500 psi of air left in their tank. We use tanks that hold 80 cubic feet of compressed air @ 3000 psi.
The captain and your diving crew will consider the needs and wishes of our customers and evaluate the present surface and diving conditions to choose the best Hawaii dive sites for each charter.
Click on the red "Book It" button and you will see live availability. Keep in mind availability changes constantly, so make sure to book in advance!
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

A BIG Thank You to my new friends at Rainbow Scuba for a fantastic day of diving. On the second dive at Horseshoe Reef we were able to see two sharks, several turtles, and the grand finale was the octopus I got to hold in my hand after watching it squirt ink. It was one of the highlights of my trip!!!

If you're looking for a diving outfit that is safe, explains things, and looks out for you then these guys are who you want. Ken was a superb leader and diving the Sea Tiger wreck was one of my favourite dives to date! The dives are really close to the shore and it's surreal to look up and see the high rises of Honolulu right there. I definitely recommend Rainbow Scuba, you won't be disappointed!

This was a great dive trip, Jeff and Ken were really good with my son Jack (15 and certified), he had some issues on the first dive and they made him feel very comfortable so that he was able to do the second dive. Jeff takes a ton of photos for you and introduced us to a hands on experience with an octopus… a first for Jack and I. The boat is very comfortable with a large ladder to get back on, and ... moreJeff and Ken make sure all of your gear is ready to go for each dive along with extra safety checks, which was important to me since I was diving with my son. Would certainly dive with them again when we come back to Oahu.

These guys were great! I am seriously considering writing two 5 star reviews just because there is not a 10 star option. Everything was thoroughly explained in the beginning. All questions about safety or what to do in an emergency were completely explained and practiced before even getting in the water and then again upon entering. At no point did I ever feel unsafe. The sights were spectacular, ... morethere were many fish, sea turtles and even some white tip reef sharks. I will be recommending Rainbow Scuba to everyone. A great experience that I will remember forever, and if I forget, they were kind enough to take free photos for us. Thanks guys!

My friend and I had an amazing experience! We saw turtles, mini sharks, octopus and many other arts of fish. Ken was super friendly, patient and answered all of our questions. A big plus for taking hundreds of pictures of us FOR FREE and offering a refund if we would have felt not comfortable on the boat or for whatever other reason. 4 stars because we had trouble finding the location. There were ... moreno signs and we asked 3 places around and nobody knew where it was.
In the end we found it by time (we met at a car and went together to the boat) - so no big deal!
All in all, I wouldn't wanna miss this awesome day and if I would stay longer in Hawaii, I would definitely go for some more dives with them!!!!
