Frequently Asked Questions
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or a increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!

Upon arrival to Honolulu, turn left outside of the baggage claim terminal and meet the Discover Hawaii Tour bus (white mini coach with red letters) located at the Hawaiian Airline "Drive thru check in area." Look for a Discover Hawaii Tour guide wearing a red polo shirt and black slacks.

Yes, admission to Pearl Harbor is free. As is the film about the Pearl Harbor attack and the boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. Our tours consist of much more than that. Besides the transportation, your tour includes a narrated drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor with a professional guide. Both the guide and narration enhance your experience at Pearl Harbor and the round-trip transportation saves the headaches of driving and finding parking (the parking lot is currently under construction) When you’re unfamiliar with an area, it can be difficult to navigate the roads and highways. Following your program at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Park, your guide takes you to many places that you may not get to see on your own. Imagine that you are driving through downtown Honolulu, and you pass the beautiful Iolani Palace, not knowing what it is you’re seeing, or the history of the treasured palace. With your friendly guide, you will know exactly what you’re seeing, its history, and maybe even an inside fact or two.

I cannot even begin to explain how much I enjoyed this tour. It is just so beautiful here. The food at PCC was excellent, the Pineapple plantation is great, and our guide showed us a couple hidden spots that made it even more special. I am definitely going to come back to Hawaii and when I do I will take more tours from Discover Hawaii.
My wife and I & two children (12 & 15) recently took a bus tour through Discover Hawaii Tours that included Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Center & the Dole Plantation on the island of Oahu. We had two tour bus drivers named Ken & Dennis. Ken is a native New Yorker (like myself) who proudly served our country in Vietnam. Ken discovered Hawaii many years ago and never returned to NY. Dennis is a native of ... moreDes Plains, Ill and he too fell in love with Hawaii never to return. Well, now I can clearly see why! Ken was our driver for the Pearl Harbor leg of the tour and being a vet, Ken added something very special to our experience! If you closed your eyes on the bus & just listened to Ken’s dramatic voice, you would swear you were listening to Morgan Freeman! Ken has this unique voice which almost brought you to tears as he narrated the events of December 7, 1941. Being in Law Enforcement & living in NY during 9-11, Ken’s narration brought back so many powerful memories that forever will link the two most devastating domestic events in US history. Ken’s resounding message of Lest we forget & was evident! We changed buses and met our second driver named Dennis. Dennis gave us the VIP treatment through the Polynesian Center & Dole Plantation. Dennis gave us a wonderful tour with his knowledge of Hawaii. Dennis has a soothing voice which he uses to eloquently describe the people, places & things on your guided tour! Dennis was very patient with everyone on the tour & his friendly demeanor came through in spades! The bus seats were very comfortable & the A/C was cranking. But truth be told, it was the people who were expertly guiding the trips that made the difference. Don’t cheat yourself & go with Discover Hawaii Tours. Please ask for Ken or Dennis. They made the trip an Awe Inspiring Experience! Thank You Discover Hawaii Tours!
It was awesome to go to another island while we were visiting Kauai. We have heard a lot about the Polynesian Cultural Center from our friends and I must say this place is like a Disneyland in the Hawaiian Islands! There are no roller coasters but it is such a huge place with so many entertaining aspects. Haleiwa town is beautiful and I hope to come back and visit this place again next year!
