Frequently Asked Questions
Bags are not allowed at Pearl Harbor, even camera bags. Anything that offers concealment is considered a bag, and therefore is not allowed to be taken into Pearl Harbor. Our recommendation is to put your ID, cash, credit cards, and phone in your pockets. Pearl Harbor offers a bag check area, but you will not have access to it during your tour and there is no in and out policy with retrieving your bag and rechecking. It is best to leave it at your hotel.
You may wear whichever shoes you prefer, but please be sure that you will be comfortable the entire day. There is quite a bit of walking at Pearl Harbor.
Yes the majority of the attractions at Pearl Harbor are completely wheelchair accessible. This includes the museums of the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, the USS Arizona Memorial, USS Oklahoma Memorial, and the Pacific Aviation Museum. Parts of the battleship USS Missouri's interior are not wheelchair accessible due to the nature of the vessel's construction, but the entire main deck and surrender deck are accessible. Unfortunately much of the USS Bowfin submarine is not wheelchair accessible.
We do not provide or rent car seats at this time and the law does not require car seats on tour buses. If you wish to bring one, you will have to pay the cost for the seat on tour.
Yes, we have scheduled bathroom stops along the routes that coincide with scenic lookouts, beaches, and other stops and attractions throughout your tour. Should you require additional stops please let your tour guide know at the beginning of the tour and we will be more than happy to accommodate your request.
For your safety, please check with your doctor and find out if there are any limitations to your touring. Some sites have more medical concerns than others, like the Volcano on the Big Island, so be sure to find out of any restrictions you may have and we need to be aware of.
Yes, we have been working successfully with travelers of all ages since our inception and we wouldn't have it any other way! We do ask parents to keep their children under control at all times for the child’s safety and the enjoyment of others. Hiking tours are not recommended for infants, toddlers, and seniors who may have trouble climbing uneven terrain.
Yes, admission to Pearl Harbor is free. As is the film about the Pearl Harbor attack and the boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. Our tours consist of much more than that. Besides the transportation, your tour includes a narrated drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor with a professional guide. Both the guide and narration enhance your experience at Pearl Harbor and the round-trip transportation saves the headaches of driving and finding parking (the parking lot is currently under construction) When you’re unfamiliar with an area, it can be difficult to navigate the roads and highways. Following your program at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Park, your guide takes you to many places that you may not get to see on your own. Imagine that you are driving through downtown Honolulu, and you pass the beautiful Iolani Palace, not knowing what it is you’re seeing, or the history of the treasured palace. With your friendly guide, you will know exactly what you're seeing, its history, and maybe even an inside fact or two.
