Frequently Asked Questions
Click on the red "Book It" button and make a request. You will receive a confirmation usually within hours. If it is not available you will not be charged and we'll help you find an alternative date or similar tour.
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible! When you get to the booking page, select the hotel you are staying at. Your confirmation email will have the pickup location which will either be your hotel, or somewhere within 5 minute walking distance.
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

Just had a great 1-day tour of Oahu. Ernie was our guide and driver. They secured the tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. Hard to get without booking far in advance. Everything was great. Ernie is quite knowledgeable and thoroughly enjoyable.

It was GREAT!
Overall:
My husband and I took the Pearl Harbor and Circle Island Tour. I feel bad for forgetting my tour guides name, but he was great too. He sings a lot. (and he sounds great when he sings) Maybe you know who I'm talking about. He's a thin gentleman in his forties or fifties I think. Anyway we had a great time and I would recommend Polynesian Adventure Tours to everyone.

“Must do if you're thinking of Pearl Harbour!”
Overall:
We had Ed as a tour guide of Pearl Harbour and he made this experience one of the best things we did while in Hawaii. His knowledge of Pearl Harbour, everything that was going on around WW2, and Honolulu was incredible. The tour also took us to Punchbowl Cemetery and historic sites of Honolulu and it was so interesting to learn the history of Honolulu. Would definitely recommend the tour to Pearl ... moreHarbour and if you can try get Ed to take you around, he was so friendly and helpful that it made our experience so much better!

Pearl Harbor Circle Island Tour
Overall:
This was good, I had heard that it takes a long time to get to Pearl Harbor by bus so I just did this tour. Saw some cool stuff around the island, my favorite part was the Byodo in Temple.

Well Worth It!
Overall:
Our tour guide was Ernie and he really made this tour special. Because we were a small group, we had a small bus, allowing us access to scenic outlook stops that would not have been possible on a large motor coach. The Byodo Temple was incredible. So very much to see on Oahu and this tour hits great highlights I am glad we did this our first day in Hawaii!

“Wonderful Experience!”
Overall:
My husband and I went on the Pearl Harbor tour and full island tour. Our expectations were more than met by the facts, culture, and history that our guide told us. When we had extra time, our guide made extra stops that were not normally included. The whole tour was wonderful! The price paid is very inexpensive compared to the value of the experience. I would recommend this tour company to anyone!

“Awesome Oahu Circle Island tour!”
Overall:
I ended up finding this tour and booked a Oahu Circle Island tour as part of our Hawaiian honeymoon, and came across very impressed! We ended up doing this tour on our first full day in Oahu and I'm very glad we did given how much information we learned that came in handy later on in our stay on Oahu.... more

The bus came by our hotel on Waikiki for pickup about ten minutes after the scheduled time but I wasn't too concerned about that. The bus driver/tour guide the entire time (believe his name was Leo) was awesome and was very attentive and full of great information throughout the entire tour. We checked out some great spots on the island, including Pearl Harbor (which was our main reason for booking the tour). Pearl Harbor is an amazing spot and is a must see if you're in Oahu. The tour went around the island to visit some different spots that were very nice and concluded at the Dole Pineapple Plantation (which is nice, but beware because it seems like a bit of a tourist trap with a lot of different vendors on site).

We had a very good time with this tour and the information we learned that first day became very beneficial and useful as our stay on Oahu continued, so I would definitely recommend doing this tour early in your stay.

Spectacular views, great guide”
Overall:
All in all a wonderful experience. Our tour guide - Charlie - was a sheer joy. He provided an ongoing narrative of the day, the history and our surroundings. He clearly has a passion for the island and his job, and it shows. We were lucky to get to the top and see a picture perfect, clear sunrise. No words can explain it, and it is really a once in a lifetime experience.

“Knowledgable guides”
Overall:
Our bus arrived on time, and our guides were energetic and knowledgable. The tour of Honolulu en route to Pear Harbor was informative. The only change I would make is to drive through Chinatown. The only other change, is I'd like to have more time at the memorial. Overall this was a great tour, and I'd do it again.

“amazing”
Overall:
I went on a GCI on Hawaii Island. The whole experience was amazing. 266 miles in one day. The major sites are high lighted. For those who want to see the island I recommend it. It gives one a general idea of the lay of the land. Then if you want to. if one is staying on the island . Rent a car and go see the places that are of interest to them. At the same time the driver gives an amazing tour of ... morethe island. The driver that drove was Ric his knowledge of the history and the island was impressive. Over all yes I will say it again. It was amazing.

“Pearl Harbor Circle Island Tour”
Overall:
The bus picked us up at our hotel at 7:15, and dropped us back off around 5:30 - it's a long day but you see a lot! Our tour guide was Ernie. He was very knowledgeable, but after 10 hours his jokes begin to wear on you a bit! ;-)  Our first stop was Pearl Harbor, where we were able to see the visitor center and the Arizona Memorial. It was great to be able to have tickets handed right to us and to ... morenot have to worry about if we would get them or not!

After that we visited Byodo-In Temple, Dole Plantation, a macadamia nut farm, and drove by Sunset Beach and around the North Shore. Lunch was a stop at an "adventure ranch" where you could purchase items a la carte, or the buffet for $17.95. The buffet was actually pretty good, but had we looked at it in advance we probably would have ordered a la carte.

All admissions were included, and there were some nice surprises along the way such as coffee and macadamia nut samples, and even plumerias for all the ladies to wear in their hair!

Overall:
Took this tour on my second trip to Oahu. I bought the tour for myself and my boyfriend bc we really wanted to see Pearl Harbor, but don't realize that reservations to see the USS Arizona memorial books up a month in advance. We were able to see Pearl Harbor last minute, as well as several other points of interest on the island, such as the Pali lookout, byodo-in temple, some macadamia/kona coffee ... moremarketplace where they have free samples, a horse ranch, sunset beach on the north shore, and the dole pineapple plantation. The entire tour was very entertaining. Our tour guide whose name I believe was pelekelo(?) was very informative and entertaining. He had a wealth of knowledge about Pearl Harbor history, but also about the island and info about Hawaiian culture because he is a native Hawaiian himself. Loved him and his constant stream of info for 8 hours (seriously, this dude knows a lot.) the only thing I have to complain about is the place we were taken to eat lunch. We had to eat at the Kualoa ranch. This is a horse ranch where they randomly have a restaurant and a horse ranch. Restaurant is a loose term since they basically serve a couple of different options of buffet or burgers/sandwiches. I paid $14 to have the salad/sandwich/soup buffet. This included a roast beef or tuna salad sandwich, a pre made "oriental" salad, and some creamy bacon soup which I wasn't about to touch. Pretty crummy food for the price. But my boyfriend chose the "Hawaiian burger" (beef, fried egg, pineapple). Sounds good, but his beef patties literally had the taste and texture of hockey pucks.

Pack a lunch just in case your your guide informs you that you will be eating lunch at Kualoa ranch. That, or bring a snack and eat later in the day at the dole plantation bc their food smelled/ looked awesome!

Pelekelo(?) is a great tour guide: tip him!

Overall:
This was an excellent, affordable way to see many popular sites on the island of Oahu with transportation included. The air-conditioned charter bus picked my wife and I up in front of our hotel. Our driver (name was Nappy) was very informative and humorous as he pointed out points of interest and nearly every type of tree and flower we saw. This trip gives you ~25 min to 1 hour at each location. Some ... morepeople may want more time to explore, but it was necessary to keep on schedule to visit all the destinations.

Pearl Harbor:
This relatively new facility does a great service to those travelers who may not know all the circumstances leading up to the bombing at Pearl Harbor. The 20 minute closed captioned, high definition video is shown before visiting the Arizona memorial. Attention was paid to explain both the Japanese and American sides of the conflict. After the video, a few polite USCG members shuttled us via ferry to the memorial (very smooth ride). You have about 20 minutes to soak in the wonderfully sad place then your shuttled back to the island.

Pali Lookout (20 Min):
Very windy, due to the location between the mountains but the view of the ocean is worth it. Don't forget to miss the most photographed wild chickens on the side of the walking path.

Byodo-In Temple (20min):
Byodo-In is a picturesque concrete recreation of a Buddhist temple situated in the foothills of the lush Hawaiian mountains. Koi ponds and waterfalls create a serene pitstop on this leg of the tour. The original temple is made of wood in China, but the tropical Hawaiian climate prevented wood from being used as a building material.

Kahaluu Macadamia nut farm (20 min):
This very kid-friendly stop gives you the opportunity to crack your own macadamia nuts and see how the locals de-husk and open up a coconut in less than 20 seconds. Be sure to sample the dozen different types of macadamia nuts they have for free.

Kualoa Ranch (1 hour)
Here you'll have the lunch break of the trip. Lunch is not included in the price of the tour. The buffet is small, but very flavorful (especially the deliciously sauced spare ribs). For those who prefer a la carte, there is a grill that includes grass fed Kualoa Ranch burgers and a wide selection of grab and go items including gluten free. Note that the price of the grill can be more expensive than the buffet if you get more than 2 items.

Dole Plantation (45 min)
Also kid-friendly, but with only 45 minutes you will not have enough time to go on the guided train tour around the plantation. Just enough time to walk around the gift shop and get a ice cream cone at the snack bar. Beautifully landscaped.

Ohana, thank you for your kokua!
Overall:
I did the Pearl Harbor - Circle Island Tour. This was my first trip to Hawaii so I was really looking forward to being a tourist and seeing as much of Oahu as we could in our short 5 days there. Our driver's name was Kimo (not sure how it is spelled). He was really great and made the whole experience entertaining. I think we spend about 2 hours at Pearl Harbor which was plenty of time but not too ... moremuch time either. We got to walk around and take pictures of everything and they have museums there that chronicle the events leading up to the attack and the ensuing war. It was very informative and every American should check this out if you ever get to Hawaii. The tour guide did an excellent job storytelling or giving you a background of the attack to help set the mood on the drive there. I'm fairly knowledgeable of American history but it is always nice to get the perspective of the locals even though he wasn't even alive when the war happened.

The rest of the tour includes a stop at the Pali Lookout which is on the top of some hills/mountains that separate the windward/leeward sides of the island. This was a great view. We spent about 20 minutes here just to take photos. The driver was really good about not wasting too much time in places where there wasn't much to do. After that we went to the Byodo-In Temple which is a short drive down the hill for Pali Lookout. Then came lunch at Kualoa Ranch. It was pretty pricey for the type of food it was. There is a buffet or you can buy items a la carte like burgers etc. I think I ordered some Teriyaki Chicken which was ok but not great. It isn't a bad idea to pack a lunch or snack. We even brought some booze with us. Not sure if that is frowned upon or not but nobody knew we were drinking cocktails the whole time.

From the lunch destination, we went to the Macadamia nut farm. I don't remember the name of this place but I quickly discovered caramel covered Macadamia nuts. I highly recommend those if you find them in stores there. They were unbelievably good! The next 30 minutes or so was spent driving around the north shore. I was kinda bummed we didn't stop here. I was really looking forward to spending some time in this area. We did make a brief stop at Pacific Beach to take a photo. The surf was pretty mild the day we were there so we didn't get to see any ginormous waves. Our group ended up renting a car the next day and going back up there. I'd recommend doing one of these tours the first day or two you are there so you can get an idea of what other things you might like to see, then rent a car and go back to those places.

The last place visited was the Dole plantation which was a typical tourist trap. Damn gumball machine even stole my quarter! We didn't spend a whole lot of time here but the driver did give us some background on the history of Dole which was cool.

You can rent a car and drive around the island yourself using google as your tour guide. But I really thought the driver added a lot to the experience. He was sharing his anecdotes, Hawaiian translations and experiences the whole way and he was pretty funny in a cheesy kinda way.

Another great groupon adventure!
Overall:
The bus was suppose to pick us up at 7am and we were stuck in morning traffic on the Pali coming in from Kailua. A call came through from Ben our driver saying "hey where you at?" Told him the situation and he said "no worries I'll pick up everyone else and circle back for you at 7:30. He did and we made the tour. This is when we got to meet our "cousin" Ben and the rest of the family. LOL ... more

What a great day first stop Pearl Harbor for almost 2 hours and the we started to circle the entire island. We got to see the amazing and beautiful scenery and places we would not have found on our own.

Ben shared his vast knowledge of the island its history and so much more. We really learned a lot about Hawaii and Ben made it fun the whole time. What a professional. The tour circled the entire island and spent a lot of time up on the north shore we went to a ranch and the Dole plantation.
