Oahu Grand Circle Island Tour

Visit Oahu's Most Scenic & Cultural Sights

Our acclaimed Grand Circle Island Tour of Oahu is the most enjoyable and informative way to see the beauty of the entire island in a single day. This exciting 120-mile excursion includes the key sites of Hawaii’s most visited island. Your professional driver guide will meet you in Waikiki in a deluxe tour vehicle and share the many natural and cultural landmarks of Oahu. From the South Shore with far reaching views of the Pacific Ocean to the windward coastline surrounded by the towering Ko’olau Mountain Range, then onward to the famous North Shore where waves pound pristine white sandy beaches, and back to Honolulu – you’ll take it all in during this one-of-a-kind tour.

Tour Highlights:

  • Exclusive Kahala Avenue is known as “Hawaii’s Beverly Hills”, and you’ll view the stunning multi-million-dollar properties in this affluent community while we travel toward the South Shore sea cliffs area.
    • Halona Blowhole acts like an ocean-driver geyser as the ocean breezes push waves into the cave below and a hole in the rock formation shoots sea spray jets high into the air. Accessibility to the overlook is dependent upon parking congestion situation at this popular stop.
      • Nu’uanu Pali Lookout is the location of the 1795 battle in which King Kamehameha I victoriously united Oahu under his rule. The epic battle claimed the lives of hundreds of warriors forced over the Pali’s sheer cliffs. At 1,200 feet above the green and blue views of Windward Oahu, the Pali Lookout is one of Oahu’s most breathtaking scenic points.
      • Byodo-In Temple is a stunning replica of a temple in Uji, Japan, Byodo-In. It is nestled in the Valley of the Temples on the slopes of the Ko’olau Mountain Range. Byodo-In commemorates the first Japanese immigrants in Hawaii and was constructed entirely without nails. Its beautiful peacocks and hundreds of Japanese Koi contribute to one of the most peaceful and picturesque locations on the island.
      • Waimea Valley, is an area steeped in historic, cultural and spiritual significance.  Located on the North Shore of Oahu it is a place you won’t soon forget.  Soak in the magic of the valley and be in the quiet of nature surrounded by beautiful flowers, rare plants, cultural sites, and a delightful waterfall for swimming (weather-permitting).

        • Chinaman’s Hat, officially Mokoli’i, or “little lizard” in Hawaiian, an islet in Kaneohe Bay. Mokoli’i will be viewed near Kualoa as your tour vehicle winds its way along the scenic coastline.
        • North Shore Surfing Breaks, including world famous Sunset, Waimea Bay, and others, are viewed from your tour vehicle as it crosses the island’s big wave territory. The region is known for its fabulously large wintertime waves and international surfing competitions.
        • Historic Haleiwa Town, with its preserved old plantation character and surf town image, makes its shops and restaurants popular among visitors and Oahu residents. It’s the gateway to the North Shore for those arriving from Honolulu and is the area’s largest commercial center.
        • Dole Plantation is “Hawaii’s Complete Pineapple Experience.” Learn, see, and taste the fruit that is part of the island’s heritage and enjoyed throughout the world. Walk through Dole’s country store where delicious ice-cold Dole Whip treats are available. The quintessential brief and final stop before heading back to Waikiki.

Click on the red "Book It" button and make a request. You will receive a confirmation usually within hours. If it is not available you will not be charged and we'll help you find an alternative date or similar tour.
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible! When you get to the booking page, select the hotel you are staying at. Your confirmation email will have the pickup location which will either be your hotel, or somewhere within 5 minute walking distance.
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

We took the "the Grand Circle Island Tour with Kualoa Ranch & Dole Pineapple Plantation" tour. Our driver was K-eowl (?). He was very funny. We were the first ones on the bus and he suggested we move seats for a better view. Thanks. The tour is a nice way to get a preview of the island, decide what you like, then go back for more time. It is pretty much drive there, get off for a while and take pictures. ... moreUnlike other reviews, K-eowl never rushed us. We had plenty of time for pictures, he was even nice enough to take our picture at a couple of spots. At first we were waved to pass Hanauma bay, that was disappointing, but K-eowl, said no worries, we'll come back. We went to another picture spot, then went back to Hanauma bay. It was worth it !! We are on our honeymoon and that was very nice. There was one annoying passenger sitting right in front of us, that just seemed grumpy and wanted to debate politics on the bus. Even the ride back with all the traffic wasn't bad, we sang song, dedicating one to a couple on their anniversary and one to us, Thanks again. I think people need to be realistic about tours, someone will find something they didn't like. I think its more important to focus on what you did like.

We had a fantastic day on this tour. It was our last day on Oahu and we were delayed due to the Hurricane Iselle so we had to fill in a day and this was so worth it. Got to see the non tourist part of the island which was lush and beautiful. Our your just 'Just Plain Ed' was absolutely awesome. He was so knowledgeable, funny and definitely had the Aloha Spirit. Highly recommend tour.

Best tour I could have gone on- the Oahu Grand Circle Island Tour!
          Overall:
The best decision I could have made- so stoked! Drove around almost the whole island and got to see or stop by some of the popular tourist locations that otherwise I wouldn't have been able to. So easy- got a hotel pick up and return and a comfortable bus seat right near the window for a good view. Had the best tour driver- he was so funny, always cracking jokes. Not only that, he was helpful, considerate ... moreand his narration was perfect. Loved his quirky facts and awesome knowledge so it was a learning experience as well as a sightseeing one.

Enjoyed looking at Diamond Head- the famous landmark as well as the cool Chinaman's Hat island. Loved the Dole Pineapple Plantation stop best and getting to have a look at North Shore with it's unbelievably white water surf waves. Neat lunch stop at Kualoa Ranch with it's souvenir shopping as well. Such a wide contrast of scenery with its sandy beaches, different compass point coastlines, mountains and forests. As well as celebrity homes, historical landmarks and a random macadamia farm stop for tastings.

Highly recommend this- wish I could have done it on my first day or one of my first days here as it's a beautiful introduction and allows you to see what you want to go back and explore with more time.

          Oahu Circle Island Tour
          Overall:
Definitely the best way to see all of Oahu in one day. You don't stop at every single place, but what we ended up doing was renting a car and visiting the places we enjoyed, especially the beaches in the north shore. Its a big van and a lot of people, but it was great, the guide was really funny and informative. Learned a lot of Hawaiian history and culture which made this adventure even better.

I wish I had done this tour earlier on my trip to O'ahu as it would have made for a great introduction. I had 'Just Ed' who was a wealth of knowledge, great jokes and sense of humour. Had such a great time- seeing sights, stopping at places, listening to our tour guide. Highly recommend to everyone. This was the best decision!

Just got back from my Trip to Honolulu. Loved it. The bus ride was very comfortable and the AC in the bus was on full blast and believe me you need it in Hawaii. I believe the best part of the trip was our Tour Driver, who's name was NAPPY. Very Funny, Nice and all around pleasant person, gave a real picture of the Hawaii culture and the laid back nature. The tour was awesome, long but Awesome. Saw ... moreThe Pali, A buddhist Temple, the Shaved Ice stand that Obama Visits, Pearl Harbor, North Shore, The Dole Planatation and the Macadamia Nuts Factory. All around great time in Hawaii and can't wait to go back. If you plan on going on this tour make sure to ask for Nappy. :) Mahalo.

I was a little iffy about this tour, but we had a nice and funny driver ED!

We went around the whole island. You get can some amazing pictures at the stops and lookouts. You get an hr lunch stop at Kaula Ranch and get a free legacy tour on their tram. Many Photo Ops and checking out the Biyodo in temple was awesome. Also free macadamia nut samples and kona coffee at the farm and then spend about 30 mins at dole plantation. ... more

It was nice not to take in the breath taking island views especially from the other side of the island instead of waikiki.

It is a fully day so expect to be back around 530-630 pm depending on your hotel stay!

          What a Tour!

My husband and I took a tour of the North Shore of Oahu with Polynesian Adventure tours. Our guide was Ernie. What a fabulous way to end our trip to the Hawaiian islands. He gave such in depth explanations of the areas we drove through. Stopped to give us a "taste" of local cuisine. And what a sense of humor. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Ed was our driver & was very informative. We learned alot about the the area. We were not rushed. Lunch was not included. It was good but very pricey at the ranch. There is a subway near the stop before the ranch. Buy it there!

The Circle Island tour showed us plenty of the island from leeward to windward, historical sights, places with great cultural significance and just a few places that are 'famous for being famous' and are considered 'Oahu Must See'. We weren't rushed through any particular areas and could explore without feeling stressed out. It was a full day that left me feeling like I'd gotten a good hint of what ... moreelse Oahu has to offer outside of the touristy spots. Our guide was highly knowledgeable of history and culture and shared an incredible amount of information with us.

We took the Oahu Grand Circle Island, Hanauma Bay, and Kualoa Ranch tour. It was an excellent tour and we highly recommend it! Our tour guide, Garfield, was extremely informative, friendly, funny, and entertaining. Definitely ask for Gar as your driver when you make your reservation! We also recommend revisiting a few places on your own after the tour. Hanauma Bay for snorkeling early in the morning ... more(6:30-7am). Kualoa Ranch for their movie site tour and for lunch (they have the best loco moco!).

Our driver/guide, Keao L (I hope the spelling is right. If not, I apologise) really made this tour a most memorable experience. To be able to see so much of Oahu in one day, was wonderful. This was the third tour we went on during our stay in Hawaii - the other two tours were in Kauai but this tour in Oahu was the best by far. Polyad - your driver and tour are really something of which you can be ... morejustly proud. His safe driving skills, wonderful commentary & knowledge of all places visited were just wonderful. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would have to give a 10+. Take a bow, Polyad, this tour exceeded our expectations.
