Description:

This is one of the top Hawaii excursions because it takes you to the Oahu Jurassic Park! While many scenes of the movies were filmed in Kualoa Ranch Oahu, there are parts of the movie that were shot out in this awesome trail called Manoa Falls.

This adventure will fulfill all your fantasies about Hawaii's lush rainforests, giant ferns, cascading tropical waterfalls, picturesque streams and unique species that can be found nowhere else on Earth.

This trail, a hidden treasure that was used by Spielberg while filming "Jurassic Park" and the soon to be released "Jurassic World" leads to the tallest accessible waterfall on Oahu, deep within a prehistoric landscape.

Observe Hawaii's rainforest plants and birds as we walk into a wide valley inside the lush Koolau mountains and visit this secluded waterfall. On this educational and fun hike you will learn about the Hawaiian's use of various plant species and the area's interesting environmental history.

Excellent photographic opportunities!

Frequently Asked Questions
All of our hiking adventures are suitable for children 5 years or older. If you have younger children we would recommend taking our Natural Highlights of Oahu tour.
It is a well-maintained dirt road in the rainforest but occasionally (after heavy rains in the mountains) it can be a bit slippery so always watch your footing and bring proper footwear. The elevation gain is about 300 feet (stretched out over the whole length of the trail)
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend aso much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form. You can also call us at 1 (808) 291-7954. We are available to discuss your schedule and options during our normal business hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm Hawaii Standard Time.
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible!
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!
Availability here changes constantly. We can tell you something is available and then 5 minutes later someone else books and it is not available anymore. If you make a booking and your activity is not available, then you will not be charged. No hassles, no worries!
There's actually no snakes in Hawaii, so you're in luck!

Decided to book this based on the reviews here, also the price for all of the hikes and packages are very reasonable! My sister and husband and I did the Manoa waterfall hike. We were picked up promptly at the Ala Moana Hotel, and our tour guide Gavin pretty much kicked butt the whole time, Right away it was like we had known him forever and he would actually be a friend we would hang out with on ... morethe weekends!
Very knowledgeable and friendly, and thorough! We learned a TON about the rain forest and about him as well! The hike was beautiful, pretty easy just slippery at times, I GUESS you could hike this without a guide, however you would be missing out on all of the valuable info a guide would have to offer!
We would definitely book this company again for a different hike, going back soon hopefully! PS wear shoes that you do not care about getting dirty because you WILL get mud ALL over them.

“Knowledgeable and friendly leaders”
Overall:
We went on two trips with Nature Tours. The first the Jurassic Park Waterfall adventure. Greg, the leader, was able to tell us about many things that we saw on the trip. Our second trip was he North Shore and Circle Island Tour. This time Justin was our leader. It is obvious that both the guides that we had love their island and really want to impart their knowledge to the group. ... more
Both guides were very friendly and approachable when any of us wanted to know something, be it about the tour or anything about the island. Greg particularly endeared himself to my husband by disputing his age, thinking he was about 20 years younger.
Should we ever return to Oahu we would definitely book other trips with this company and I would love to return to the Valley of the Temples, it is so peaceful and calming.

“Manoa Falls - Beautiful”
Overall:
My partner and I booked this tour for Tuesday 17th June 2014 100% happy with the tour, tour guide (Charlie) and tour company (Oahu Nature Tours). As soon as we departed, Charlie turned our tour bus into a mobile classroom, with a combination of history, geography and biology lessons... I found him to be incredibly knowledgable and informative.... more
Backpacks were available for our use if needed, along with wooden poles for stability along the track.
The scenery was amazing, early into the trek it started to rain, not too heavy but certain areas along the hike were a little treacherous and required careful manoeuvring.
We were informed that this particular area had been used in the filming of parts of Jurassic Park and The Hunger Games, Charlie also volunteered to take photos of each of our tour party at various locations along the way.
The waterfall itself was definitely worth the hike, the volume of water is dependant on how much rain there had been.
All in all we were so glad we chose this tour and would not hesitate in choosing and recommending Oahu Nature Tours.
Thank you ONT and Charlie for a wonderful experience.

This was my first trip to hawaii and i am so glad i signed up for 2 hiking tours with this company: the manoa waterfall tour and the diamond head tour. my guide for both tours was ross t., who fed us with lots of information about the places we were hiking at, the flora and fauna, the surrounding islands, the geology and geography of hawaii, historical and cultural stuff about hawaii, and more! yes, ... morethe young man is that knowledgeable (and cute too)! he also made sure that everyone was well taken care of, and provided us with water, hiking sticks and backpacks. i wouldn't consider either of the hikes to be strenuous, especially if you take up the hiking stick offer. two thumbs up to ross and this company, and if i were to spend more time here, i would definitely sign up for more tours with them.

My sister and I signed up for the Manoa Waterfall Adventure Tour through Oahu Nature Tour. I was so glad to have booked this trip! The hike up to the waterfall was beautiful! It was what you would imagine hiking through a rainforest would be, with big trees and a canopy of green vines growing everywhere, rare flowers peeking out through the greenery, branches intertwined with each other. I loved it! ... moreI seriously felt like Indiana Jones on an adventure (secret dream of mine). Our tour guide Dante was so friendly and helpful throughout the tour and he had a very positive energy. Our group was so nice to hike with and we all helped each other go up and down some slippery areas. They provided water, a hiking stick (yes, they do come in handy), and good conversation and insights. The waterfall was pretty and I just wanted to keep hiking the rest of the day! If I return to Oahu, I will definitely spend a whole day just hiking around Manoa Falls. Very highly recommended!!!

Side note: You don't really need a tour guide to hike this trail but they do provide transportation, water, a hiking stick, and someone familiar with the flowers etc so that was worth it for us. You could definitely go and hike yourself and explore yourself though.

Oahu Nature Tours is awesome!! My husband, mother-in-law and myself went on two tours back to back in one day. We did the Manoa Falls Hike and the North Shore Tour. Both were awesome! For Manoa Falls, I really wanted to see some of Hawaii's natural beauty / wild jungle and this is excactly what I got! The hike was muddy and slippery but totally worth getting to the waterfall. Our guide Janette or ... more"Net" was amazing. She was so knowledgable of all the plants and wild life. And knowledgable of the entire area itself - all the neighborhoods on the way to the destination. Anyway, backpacks, water bottles and walking sticks were all provided for us. The hike itself can get a little tough when you are hiking over big rocks and sometimes pulling on tree vines to help you up. It is somewhat physically demanding but nothing my 63 year-old mother-in-law couldn't handle. So proud of you! Truly amazing tour.

North shore tour was so beautiful. George was our guide and he of course was so knowledgable. Definitely got to see some amazing sights like the Buddhist Temple, Sunset Beach, Chinaman's Hat island, Turtle beach with actual giant sea turtles, Dole Plantation and so much more!!! Only wished we could have stayed at some places a little longer and made some stops at the shrimp trucks!! Darn! Overall, the tour is amazing. Those giant sea turtles definitely made my day. They were beautiful.

On both tours there were about 10-12 people in a passenger van. I wouldn't want to go in a big group anyway. Everything would just take so much longer.

We hiked Manoa Falls with Nick Knock as our guide. He was professional, knowledgeable, and funny. It was also great that the tour provides water, walking sticks, backpacks, and bug spray. At first, I thought I was copping out by taking a walking stick, but it really comes in handy getting through the slippery parts of the trail.... more

The Manoa Falls hike was beautiful and we were lucky to see the waterfall in full swing (it had been a rainy season). If the waterfall isn't fully flowing I can see this hike being a bit of a bummer. You'll learn about the flora, fauna, and history of the area on the way up. We even saw a spot that was filmed in the movie Lost World.

As far as difficulty is concerned, if you can do Diamond Head, you can do this hike was well.

I'll definitely book another tour through Oahu Nature Tours when I go back to Oahu!

Mee-na, Mee-na, Mee-na! We booked the Manoa Falls. Our tour guide Mee-na arrived right on time and was super friendly! We picked up 8 more guests and she introduced us all to each other and somehow remembered everyone's name. The drive to the trail was quick and Mee-na took advantage of the time by asking us trivia questions about Waikiki Beach and the island. We were all offered walking sticks, bottled ... morewater, backpacks and bug spray.
Mee-na's knowledge of the plant life and island is what made this tour. She knew many species of trees, plans, vines etc . . . She was so engaging and knowledgeable and although I would have loved hiking this trail because of the natural beauty, she made the experience educational and fun! The week that we went saw little rainfall so the trail was very dry but Mee-na told us that at times the trail can be wet, muddy and slippery. The size of the waterfall depends on the amount of rainfall and it was probably a third of its possible size which didn't affect its majesty. As some point I lost my walking stick and Mee-na was completely understanding. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the island of Oahu. If they let you request a guide be sure to ask for Mee-na!

I did 2 tours: Manoa Falls and Diamond Head. The Manoa Falls jungle hike was perfect for a young adult like me. Everyone was hilarious and we were all joking. The terrain was strenuous, but perfect for people under age 40. I would give this tour a 5 rating. Our tour guide Mina (sp?) was hilarious and was one of the best tour guides I've had on the island so far.... more

I also did the Diamond Head hike. Everyone would enjoy the views and unique experience of Diamond head. There were a lot of older people on the tour, so some really struggled up the mountain. I felt the tour was more of a timed walk up the mountain, take photos and then hike down. Because it was less interesting, I'd rank this a 3.
