A perfect photo opportunity, this World War II plane is a favorite among divers. Unlike other wrecks on Oahu, the Corsair was not intentionally sunk as an artificial reef. The pilot ... moremisjudged his fuel and made an emergency landing in 1948. Located just outside of Maunalua Bay in East Oahu, the plane sits at approximately 110 feet. In addition to the plane wreck, the area boasts a unique garden eel population and a dive site known as Spitting Caves (or China Wall Drift). Rock formations on the surface can cause swells to “spit” up into the air, and under the waves divers will find a 35-50 ft wall and a variety of caves and ledges to explore. Currents can be strong at this dive site, so always use the mooring line and keep an eye on your buddy.

Baby Barge is a great East Oahu wreck to explore because it has beautiful reefs and affords access to other sites. Sitting upright at 60-85 feet, divers can explore coral colonies ... morealong the deck which sits at 45 ft. Along the left side of the wreck, you’ll find a 15-20 ft ledge that drops down to about 85 ft. Green sea turtles often take advantage of the caves along this ledge and white tip cave sits towards the western edge. This is a great place to see white tip reef sharks along with an occasional Galapagos shark.
Getting out to the site takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes and can be a little bumpy depending on conditions. Currents can also be strong and you should watch the surge. Fantasy reef is usually the second dive where divers can drift dive through overhangs and swim-throughs at 45 ft.

Like Baby Barge, this East Oahu wreck is a gateway to other great sites. An upside down marine landing craft, the LST is home to fields of coral and tropical fish with rare black coral ... morenearby. Schools of soldier fish and bigeyes can usually be found hiding underneath and sharks are also a common sight here.
Usually accompanied by Tire Reef Drift dive and Sea Cave dive, this wreck is only the start!
