Frequently Asked Questions
While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or a increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. Since Waikiki is a very small area, if they do not pick up at your hotel, it will be from another one that will be a 3-5 minute walk. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible!
Yes, you may take your iPad or any tablet to Pearl Harbor.
unch is a picnic style boxed lunch, with chips and a cookkie. Options are: Roast Beef Sandwich, Veggie Sandwich, Santa Fe Chicken Wrap, Oven Roasted Turkey Sandwich, and Chicken Cesar Salad. The time for lunch is about an hour, and is included with the price of your tour (which is only part of the reason that this tour is priced slightly higher than other).
For this tour, Pearl Harbor is the first stop of the day, and is about 2 1/2 hours. This gives you enough time to visit the USS Arizona Memorial and the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Since this tour makes a complete trip around Oahu, there is not time to visit the other museums at Pearl Harbor.
Tickets to the USS Arizona Memorial are included with your tour. Your Tour Guide will secure tickets for you, saving you from standing in line, and allowing you more time to explore the Pearl Harbor Visitor's Center.
We take great pride into making your experience with us perfect. From the moment you begin considering Discover Hawaii Tours to your final drop-off with our tour guides, we go to great lengths to make sure your day is worry-free and that you get to experience the best of Hawaii. Our tours operate in smaller buses, allowing for more stops, getting you closer to the best spots, and giving you a more intimate experience.
Our tours are conducted in 25-passenger mini-coach tour buses with Discover Hawaii Tours logos on the sides. Our friendly expert guides are dressed in red polo-style shirts with our logo and black slacks.
Founded in 1995, we have been operating without causality or major accident for more than 15 years. Your safety, satisfaction, and input is a way of life for our company.
During the booking process online, there is a ‘Message’ box where you can let us know of any food allergies (when lunch is included), special occasions, requests, and any other important information that you feel is necessary. We take your tour personally, so rest assured that we will do our best to make sure that your requests are met and your tour is a perfect experience.
Our tour guides are our main assets to us, and you. After completing an intense 2 week training course in driving safety, Hawaiian culture, United States and Hawaiian History, customer service, and First Aid and CPR training, they become Hawaii's Ambassadors of Aloha.
Yes! We carry Commercial Use Authorization for all of our Pearl Harbor Tours, which allows our tour guides to enter Pearl Harbor’s Museums, are an authorized transportation company for Pearl Harbor, and are allowed to transport our guests to Ford Island. Additionally, we are an Authorized Transportation provider for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and conduct tours to the world’s most active volcano, Mt. Kilauea.
Yes, all of our short tours stop for snacks and half-day and full-day Circle Island Tours include lunch. Don’t worry, you will have time to feed your baby. For those tours with lunch, we proudly feature options that are prepared fresh daily from local ingredients by an exclusive provider, these tours stop at a secluded beach to rest and enjoy your meal.
At this time, our vehicles can accommodate collapsible wheelchairs only. We do not have a wheelchair lift. We ask that you let us know at the time of booking your tour that you will be traveling with a collapsible wheelchair so that we are able to make sure you are fully accommodated.
We do not provide or rent car seats at this time and the law does not require car seats on tour buses. If you wish to bring one, you will have to pay the cost for the seat on tour.
Yes, we have scheduled bathroom stops along the routes that coincide with scenic lookouts, beaches, and other stops and attractions throughout your tour. Should you require additional stops please let your tour guide know at the beginning of the tour and we will be more than happy to accommodate your request.
For your safety, please check with your doctor and find out if there are any limitations to your touring. Some sites have more medical concerns than others, like the Volcano on the Big Island, so be sure to find out of any restrictions you may have and we need to be aware of.
Yes, we have been working successfully with travelers of all ages since our inception and we wouldn't have it any other way! We do ask parents to keep their children under control at all times for the child’s safety and the enjoyment of others. Hiking tours are not recommended for infants, toddlers, and seniors who may have trouble climbing uneven terrain.
Yes, admission to Pearl Harbor is free. As is the film about the Pearl Harbor attack and the boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. Our tours consist of much more than that. Besides the transportation, your tour includes a narrated drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor with a professional guide. Both the guide and narration enhance your experience at Pearl Harbor and the round-trip transportation saves the headaches of driving and finding parking (the parking lot is currently under construction) When you’re unfamiliar with an area, it can be difficult to navigate the roads and highways. Following your program at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Park, your guide takes you to many places that you may not get to see on your own. Imagine that you are driving through downtown Honolulu, and you pass the beautiful Iolani Palace, not knowing what it is you’re seeing, or the history of the treasured palace. With your friendly guide, you will know exactly what you’re seeing, its history, and maybe even an inside fact or two.
Availability here changes constantly. We can tell you something is available and then 5 minutes later someone else books and its not available anymore. If you make a booking and your activity is not available, then you will not be charged. No hassles, no worries!
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Gratuity is never required but if you enjoyed your experience, a tip is always greatly appreciated!

We spent a full day doing Pearl Harbor , the Arizona, Bowfin, Ford island, the Missouri, and the Pacific Aviation Museum. Our driver/tour operator was Cousin A (Arielle). He started the day by playing the Ukulele and singing. He was animated and knowledgeable. He added a lot to the tour.

Tour was great, our driver was really personable and funny. I just wish I had enough energy at the end. I wasn't exactly and energetic towards the end, since it was almost 12hours. Our guide took us into Diamond Head for a quick peek, which was a nice touch. Recommended, its just a little long. Our guide's name was Kona.. (something like that).

This was such a good day. Hotel pickup, small group of only 25 people and so easy! Was a good way to get out of the tourist hub of Waikiki and see the rest of the island. I had Kenn and he was amazing and truly evident how much he loves Hawaii. He had so much information to give us throughout the day, made it so easy to understand and listen to and even threw in some jokes. Yes it is a long day but ... moreI loved every minute of it. Thanks again Kenn!

This tour is a must! Staying in Waikiki, it was great to see all the other parts of Oahu. The scenery was amazing. Our tour guide, Hana, was the best. We were amazed at all the stories and information he told us. It was definitely one of the best activities on our vacation.

Enjoyed a wonderful tour on comfortable smaller tour bus. We had plenty of informative stops, and saw beautiful Pearl Harbor and North shore beaches. The lunch was yummy, and driver, Jonathan, was very knowledgeable and shared many stories about life on Oahu. One of our best tours!

Excellent! Hana, the tour guide was highly entertaining and informative. Would have liked to have spent a little more free time on the North Shore beaches, but overall the stops on the tour were very good. Would recommend to anyone wanting to get a feel for the island away from Waikiki!

Awesome tour! My 1st time in Hawaii. Came to visit friends (native and one station in the military) due to work scheduled ended up doing a lot on my own. Smaller group so I wasn't just one in the ranks and being I was solo got to interact and talk with others in the group so I didn't feel like I was alone. After this trip I feel like I've seen the whole island. Greg was awesome! Gave us a TON of insight ... moreand knowledge. Even some off schedules stops and sights. So much to see and take in. Originally booked another tour but it was cancelled so I got upgraded to this one. Really a must do!

We were in Oahu for a limited time. It was 11 1/2 hours WELL spent. We saw an awful lot in one day and never would have been able to do it all on our own. Our tour guide was Kenn. He made us "professional travelers" for the day instead of tourists. His knowledge of the island is incredible. Thanks for making this a positive experience for us!

This tour was fabulous! The amount of information and sightseeing they fit into one day is incredible, but they somehow manage to also make it feel relaxed. It is an early start and a long day, but definitely well worth it. Our tour guide was Jesse, and he was a great tour guide. It was nice to have a younger person show us around the island (as my friends and I are of a similar age), but he also ... moreknew heaps of information. This is the perfect tour to do lots in a small amount of time! Will definitely be recommending this tour to everyone I know who is going to Oahu. If you can only do one tour in Hawaii, do this one!
