Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Tours typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.
Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed on the tour. Our tours often sell out. No partial credits or rescheduling is allowed for partial attendance, no shows, or late arrivals. It is your responsibility to show up at the right location, on time. The tours depart promptly.
Currently we do not offer any discounted tickets for children and seniors.
If you are bringing a child that is 2 years of age or younger, and he/she will not be eating during the tour, you do not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. On our tours, you will taste foods and beverages that Honolulu is famous for, and some that are just unique and hard to find anywhere else. We would tell you, but it will ruin the surprise!
Our tours include 5-6 tasting locations, with 6-7 mini-plate size samples (depends on the tour) along the way. Our goal is to leave you completely stuffed, and to give you a taste of the best culinary treats Honolulu has to offer.
Yes! We will supply everyone with a bottle of water. If more refreshments are required, you may purchase them at the different locations we stop at.
We recommend that you don’t eat anything before joining us for the tour. The amount of food eaten on the tour is significant enough that many people skip lunch afterwards, or will opt for a later dinner depending on the tour time.
Sorry but unfortunately at this time there are no vegetarian options.
Absolutely not! You will taste locally made foods that will awaken your palate, while learning about and meeting the storied characters and vendors that give Honolulu life. Soak up the rich and vibrant history that even locals don’t know about!
Children are welcome on the tours, but please bear in mind that some children have a limited attention span and therefore a 2-3 hour tour may not be appropriate for them. Parents know their children best and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when deciding whether the tours are appropriate for your child. If your child is 2 years of age or younger and will not be eating, you will not need to purchase a ticket for him/her. If your child is 3 years of age or older, you will need to purchase a ticket for him/her, regardless if he/she will be eating. Please bear in mind that strollers and wheelchairs are not allowed on the tours. The tours require a certain level of physical stamina. We are on our feet for approximately 2-3 hours. There are no hills on the Aloha Food Tour Lunch Tour and this tour requires the least amount of physical fitness. Tastings are on the go and seating opportunities are limited and sporadic.
Due to the various food establishments we visit, pets of any kind are not allowed on the tours.

Definitely! Many of our attendees live right here in Hawaii. Locals often join us to learn about the great food finds in the “Heart and Soul of Honolulu” that have been under their noses the entire time! Honolulu is brimming with lively tales and history that you will be surprised by.
The tours end within a few blocks of the starting point. Your tour guide will be happy to assist with directions at the end of the tour.
The tours are held rain or shine. You should dress appropriately for the day’s weather conditions and bring an umbrella if necessary.
We ask that you please wait to shop until after the tour so that we can stay on schedule and continue with the informative tour and food tastings in a timely manner. Allow time at the end of the tour to return to your favorite stores and vendors.
Yes, bathrooms are available throughout the tours. However, we strongly recommend that you use the facilities before meeting up for the tour, so that we can stay on schedule and maximize our tastings!
Gratuities for good service are always greatly appreciated. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%.
Yes! In fact, we strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour. However, we do not allow video cameras or tape recorders.
o, unfortunately we are not allowed to have baby strollers or wheelchairs on our tours, due to the crowds and tight spaces in the food establishments we visit. Some of the artisans and businesses we visit are very small, crowded, and not wheelchair or stroller accessible in a tour group of up to 12 guests.
