Frequently Asked Questions
Click on the red "Book It" button and make a request. You will receive a confirmation usually within hours. If it is not available you will not be charged and we'll help you find an alternative date or similar tour.
H Tours Hawaii is a "one stop shop" for all the best activities in the Hawaiian Islands. Since we work with many providers, reservations are necessary. WE HIGHLY recommend making reservations, as many activities are at a discount when you reserve in advance. Some providers even charge higher for those "walking in" because they know chances are you're not going to walk away. Finally, a reservation ensures you have a space on the tour. Trust us you don't want to spend so much time and money to come to Hawaii and then miss out on an activity because they were booked out!
Choose the tour you are interested in, click the red “Book It” button adjacent to the tour information, and complete the booking form.
Most companies, if not all, require you to call them if you're trying to book something 2-3 days in advance. Do you really want to be spending your valuable time in Hawaii calling around to desperately find something that is available to do? While we can usually accommodate most last-minute bookings, we highly encourage those that are checking out our website far in advance to book 2-3 weeks prior to desired date. You never know if there's a convention, special event, or an increase in overall visitors in town, and it would be a shame if the activities that you want to do are sold out because you waited until the last minute. Basically, if you know you want to do it, just book it!
Most companies have a set of centrally located hotels that they do pick ups from. This makes the pickup process short so you can start the tour as soon as possible! When you get to the booking page, select the hotel you are staying at. Your confirmation email will have the pickup location which will either be your hotel, or somewhere within 5 minute walking distance.

This was absolutely the best luau I've ever been too. The entertainment and food were worth every penny. Pile your plate high because you may not be able to get seconds since the food can go quickly since it is soooo very tasty.  VIP is worth the experience of being front and center. They also serve VIP tables first. They shared their culture and immersed us. Highly comical and engaging. I would recommend ... morethis luau to others.

If you want to go to a luau, go here. Chief was hilarious, warm, and great at throwing a luau. He made us feel like family. The show was great and I got pulled up on stage to dance with the hula girls. So much fun. The food was really tasty as well. Mountains and the beach surround you in this great environment. I almost forgot to mention all the fun activities you can participate in before the actual ... moreluau. We had such a great night and you will too!

I must say that I've been to probably every luau on Ohau over the years and they are all really good, but the Chief's Luau tops them all. It is a smaller more intimate setting than some of the bigger one's and you don't feel like you are being herded...very laid back. That being said, the entertainment is non stop and the best combination of music, dance and fire show that I've seen on island. The ... moreChief is without a doubt the best master of ceremonies I've seen and you walk away feeling like everyone there was ohana! Awesome experience over all!

Overall:
This is probably the highlight of our vacation here in Hawaii. Its 30 minutes away from Honolulu going east where you'll pass by scenic views. There's 3 options for seats which is Royal, Paradise and Standard. We picked the Paradise seats which is in the middle after the Royal Seats which was okay seats, but kind of regret that we came a little later than others (come early so you can pick your seats ... morebut when I say early its in front of the line). Comes with a buffet and two free drinks.

Anyway, it will start of with activities and you can buy some souvenirs too. Then it will start with some music and then get to the buffet. The food was really good, I cant complain but I just hoped the buffet lasted til night time. Lol we only got one plate so if you can put as much in your plate so it'll be worth it. The mai tai was okay too. Loved their taro bread!

After the dinner starts the main event, dancing, comedies some time they would call people up the stage to dance and stuff. It was really really fun! We loved Chief Luau's sense of humor. If you're sensitive to some dirty jokes, dont come here. Lol Or if you have kids with you (although they wont have any idea what he's talking about anyway) dont come here. The dances are very amazing! They're showing all the Poli cultures. Everybody was very nice and entertaining. No words can explain our experience here. We would definitely come back if we get a chance. Highly recommended!

This was so much fun!! We paid for the paradise upgrade and it was worth it. Got to eat at the buffet before everyone else and had a great view! My husband was pulled up on stage to do the hula which was hilarious!

Overall:
The Chief's Luau is a curious experience. Located at Seal Life Park, it is a spectacular location by mountains and water flanking the luau areas on two sides. The experience is fairly pricey, but it is worth it. The main problem, however, was the rain. The luau always happens in an open area, but Hawaii being what it is, expect to be completely drenched throughout the dinner and performance. Yes, ... moreyou will get a cheap rain poncho to wear, but no, it will not help you.

At any rate, the even begins with the greeting. Depending on what you paid, you get your "level" of lei and are led to a greeting area where you can take photos with the Chief and the dancers. Once you are shown to your seat and it is "reserved" for you, you wander the grounds, taking part in various activities: my wife enjoyed weaving a headband out of leaves and trying to start fire with two pieces of wood.

Next, the pig roast demonstration begins. Honestly, it was quite appetizing and I was sorry I couldn't eat the pig then and there. In a way, this is also a problem because, if you get the cheaper tickets, you get to eat last, and the buffet-style food wasn't spectacular (the rain making everything soggy didn't help much, either. However, one way or another, we filled our bellies with food and watched the show.

The heart of The Chief's Luau is the Chief himself, who is a very interesting performer. However, his stage persona is not only interesting because of what he can do or show, but because, in a rare exception to Hawaiian historiography, he shares some of his own personal life story which creates a curious link between the effacement of Polynesian culture, American imperialism (Hawaii being a conquered territory of the U.S.), and the American dream. Yes, there are a few sappy parts in the performance, but you will see: dancing (and lots of it), singing, fire dancing, and in short a representations of the many cultures that intersect in Hawaii.

In this regard, I have to say that this is, hands down, a significantly better experience than the Polynesian Cultural Centre shows. Prepared to be wet but excited!

Very Good
Overall:
The show is excellent, the staff, the surroundings, duration, parking, etc. The food is typical buffet that my taste lacked variety, desserts were equally scarce. It's like a complimentary dinner when in fact it should constitute much of the event. The remaining 10 pts.
