From Waikiki, our professional nature guide will shuttle you by van to a tropical rain forest in Manoa Valley. You’ll be issued trail snacks of dried fruits and nuts, water bottle and rain poncho Then take a narrated nature hike 2-miles r/t along a jungle stream with mountain pools to view Oahu’s tallest waterfall (M-F). You’ll hike back over a bamboo trail viewing the many tropical plants, flowers and trees. You’ll then be shuttled to the top of Pu’u ‘Ohia (Tantalus) where you’ll be outfitted with a KHS cruiser bike and Bell helmet and given safety instructions and practice laps before descending the 5-mile paved jungle road. You’ll stop half-way down at Manoa lookout for pictures, narrative and a delicious deli-style lunch (turkey, ham, roast beef or veggie sandwich, chips, cookies and cold beverages). Once you reach the grassy park at the bottom, you’ll then return to Waikiki by van.
Bike Route: 5-mile descent over paved, jungle road. Round Top Drive
Waterfall Hike: 2-mile round-trip to a 150ft. Manoa Falls M-F and a 50ft. windward waterfall on Saturday Moderate hike less than 100’ elevation gain throughout 1-mile hike to falls.
Views include: Ko‘olau and Wai‘anae Mountains, Le‘ahi Crater (Diamond Head), Waikiki, Honolulu, Reef Runway, Ewa Beach, Makakilo, Red Hill.
Includes: R/T van transportation from Waikiki, morning snack for hike, water bottle, deli-style lunch (turkey, ham, roast beef or veggie sandwich), chips and cold beverages ,bike and helmet. Waist pack, rain jacket and mosquito repellent also provided.
Must Bring: Guests are urged to wear socks that cover ankles, and closed toe shoes with good traction for dirt/mud, dress comfortable and bring a camera.
